Southeast Fresno Hit and Run Collision Ends in a Double Fatality on Chestnut Avenue

Wrongful Death and Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Saturday, November 22, 2014, a hit and run crash happened in southeast Fresno, and killed a mother and daughter.  The DUI collision occurred at about 11:20 PM, at the Jensen and Chestnut intersection.

Rafael Arce Pedroza, who officers say was driving while intoxicated, was traveling in a Suzuki SUV on Chestnut Avenue.  He was speeding toward the intersection of Chestnut and Jensen avenues, when he hit a Nissan Pathfinder from behind, that was stopped at a red light.

The Nissan was driven by Jacqueline Rivera and also included her husband; Jose Chavez, son; Jose Chavez, daughter; Aaliyah Chavez, 11 years old, and her son's girlfriend; Savanni Ung.

The collision with the Suzuki caused the Pathfinder to overturn multiple times and hit a light pole in the intersection.  The car then burst into flames, after the gas tank ruptured.

Pedroza ran away from the accident on foot into an apartment complex nearby.  He was later found hiding under a bed in his apartment and was arrested.

Jose Chavez, his son, and Savanni Ung were all able to get free of the burning vehicle.  While Jacqueline Rivera and her daughter Aaliyah who were unconscious from the collision were not rescued in time.

Pedroza and the three victims in the Pathfinder all suffered minor to moderate injuries.  They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, for treatment.

Vehicle Collision in Fresno County on Highway 180 Ends Fatally

November 22, 2014- A fatal vehicle accident happened in Fresno County on Highway 180.  The car collision took the life of a Fresno woman, on Saturday at about 5:45 PM.

The victim was driving her automobile on the highway, headed east, near Kerman.  A pickup truck towing a trailer was stopped and about to turn north onto Howard Avenue.  The woman did not see the trailer and collided into the back of it.

Officers reported that the trailer did not have any working lights, so it was hard for drivers to see.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  The truck driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Tulare County Tractor-Trailer Accident on Road 80 and Avenue 368

A semi truck collision took the life of a Porterville woman, on Monday, November 17, 2014.  The big rig accident happened in Tulare County, north of Visalia, at about 7:10 PM.

A Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was driving southbound on Road 80, and about 55 mph.  At the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 368, the rig drove through a red light and collided with a Toyota 4Runner.

The Toyota, was driven by Olivia Thomason/Thompson, who was headed east on Avenue 368.  Thomason had a green light at the intersection when the semi truck struck her vehicle.

The impact of the collision pushed the 4Runner across the street where it hit a Chevrolet Trailblazer, that was being driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason was pronounced dead at the scene.

Hernandez suffered moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  Celaya wasn't hurt in the crash.

4-Car Pile Caused by Drunk Driving Accident on Highway 180 in Fresno County

On Saturday, November 22, 2014, a four or three car pileup happened in west Fresno County, on Highway 180.  The vehicle collision took place near San Mateo Avenue, at approximately 5:30 PM.

An update to the incident has occurred; a Mendota man was killed in the crash.

Officers have reported that Samuel Melendrez, 50 years old, was traveling east on Highway 180, in a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup.  Orlando Orozco, 32, of Dos Palos, was driving a 2001 Chevy Silverado truck and towing a horse trailer, westbound on the highway.

The Chevrolet swerved across the freeway and hit the other pickup truck head-on.  This lead to one or two other vehicles also traveling eastbound, to crash into the back of the initial wreck.

Melendrez was pronounced dead in the collision.

Orozco sustained major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

A Kerman woman who was in one of the other cars, was also hurt and taken to the hospital.

Kern County Fatality on Weedpatch Highway in Lamont, After Hit and Run

Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia, Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, November 27, 2014, a hit and run crash ends in a fatality.  The car collision occurred in Lamont, at about 6 PM, on State Route 184.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident happened on Weedpatch Highway, north of Sunset Boulevard, in Kern County.  Officers found a victim of the incident dead in the middle of the roadway.

Highway 184 was closed for several hours while the authorities investigated the hit and run collision.

Fatal Car Accident on Highway 180 and Howard Avenue, near Kerman

Visalia Accident Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent report; On Saturday, November 22, 2014, an automobile collision ends fatally.  The Fresno County car accident took place on Highway 180, at about 5:45 PM.

A Fresno woman was driving her car east on Highway 180, near Kerman.  A truck towing a trailer was stopped to turn north onto Howard Avenue.  The driver of the auto did not see the trailer and the vehicle smashed into the back of it.

Highway 180 Multi-Vehicle Collision near San Mateo, in Fresno County

November 22, 2014- A multi-vehicle accident occurred in Fresno County on Saturday.  The 4-car pileup happened on Highway 180, near San Mateo, at about 5:30 PM.

A pickup truck was traveling west on Highway 180, when it drifted into the eastbound lane and hit another vehicle head-on.

Two other cars headed east then collided into the back of the initial crash.

The pickup truck driver was seriously hurt and taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  A woman involved in the accident was also injured.  She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fatal Semi Truck Accident North of Visalia on Road 80

On Monday, November 17, 2014, a fatal big rig collision took place in Tulare County, at about 7:10 PM.  The semi truck accident killed a Porterville woman, on Road 80 and Avenue 368, north of Visalia.

Olivia Thomason of Porterville, was driving a Toyota 4Runner east on Avenue 368.  As the Toyota reached the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80, Thomason had a green light. The vehicle drove into the intersection and was hit by a Kenworth tractor-trailer.

The semi, driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was headed south on Road 80, and did not stop at the posted red traffic light.  It is reported that the big rig was traveling at about 55 mph when it collided with the 4Runner.

Thomason's vehicle was pushed across the road and into a Chevy Blazer, driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason died at the scene of the crash.  Hernandez sustained moderate injuries.  He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.  Celaya was not injured in the wreck.

Hit and Run Automobile Accident Ends in Fatality in Fresno

November 22, 2014- A drunk driving car collision killed two people in Fresno.  The SUV hit and run accident took place on Saturday, at about 11:20 PM.

The intoxicated driver, Rafael Arce Pedroza, was traveling on Chestnut Avenue, in an Suzuki SUV, at a high rate of speed.  At the same time a Nissan Pathfinder was stopped on Chestnut, at the intersection of Jensen Avenue.

The Pathfinder, which was driven by Jacqueline Rivera, was waiting in the right-hand lane, for the light to turn green.  Rivera was in the car with her husband Jose Chavez, their son and daughter; Jose and Aaliyah, and their son's girlfriend; Savanni Ung.

The Suzuki smashed into the back of the Nissan while it was stopped at the traffic signal.  The impact caused the Pathfinder to overturn three times.  It came to rest after it hit a light pole.  The vehicle then caught fire from a ruptured gas tank.

Jose Chavez, his son, and the girlfriend were able to escape the burning car.  They were injured and taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Jacqueline Rivera, and Aaliyah, 11 years of age, who were reported to have been unconscious, were not rescued in time.  They were both pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

After the crash, Pedroza ran away on foot into an apartment complex.  He was later found by officers, in his place of residence.  He was arrested, and then taken to the hospital for treatment of his wounds.

Pedroza faces multiple charges, including vehicular manslaughter and DUI.

4-Car Pileup on Highway 180 in West Fresno County

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Saturday, November 22, 2104, a 4-car pileup took place on Highway 180.  The vehicle collision occurred in west Fresno County, at about 5:30 PM.

The CHP reported that the crash happened on eastbound Highway 180, near San Mateo.  A pickup truck was driving on the westbound highway when the driver lost control of the vehicle.  It veered into the opposite lanes and crashed head-on with another car.

After the initial wreck two more automobiles that were eastbound smashed into the back of the two vehicles.

The truck driver sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance, to Community Regional Medical Center.  A female victim was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Porterville Woman Killed in Big Rig Collision on Road 80 and Avenue 368, Near Visalia

Tulare County Wrongful Death and Personal Injury Lawyer John L. Rozier has the following collision update; On Monday, November 17, 2014, and Porterville woman was killed in a vehicle accident with a semi truck.  The big rig crash took place north of Visalia, at about 7:10 PM.

A Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was traveling southbound on Road 80, at about 55 miles per hour.  He failed to stop at a red light, at the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 368.  The big rig ran into a 2003 Toyota 4Runner, that was driven by Olivia Thomason or Thompson.

Thomason had been eastbound on Avenue 368, when the semi truck collided with her SUV.  The impact pushed the Toyota across the roadway and it collided with a Chevrolet Blazer, that was driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Hernandez received moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  It is reported that Celaya was not injured.

Drunk Driving Car Collision on Chestnut Avenue, in Southeast Fresno

On Saturday, November 22, 2014,  a deadly hit and run collision occurred on Chestnut Avenue in southeast Fresno.  The automobile accident happened at approximately 11:20 PM.

A Nissan Pathfinder driven by Jacqueline Rivera, was stopped at a red light in the right-hand lane, on Chestnut, at Jensen Avenue.  In the car was Rivera's husband; Jose Chavez, their son; Jose Chavez, daughter; Aaliyah Chavez, 11 years old, and Savanni Ung, their son's girlfriend.

A Suzuki Sport Utility Vehicle, driven by Rafael Arce Pedroza, was speeding down Chestnut Ave.  Officers reported that he was driving while intoxicated.  The SUV crashed into the back of the Nissan as it was waiting for the light to turn green.

The Pathfinder rolled over three times and collided with a light pole.  The vehicle then burst into flames, after the gas tank ruptured.

Rivera and her daughter Aaliyah were unconscious from the accident, and were not able to get free of the burning car.  They died at the scene of the collision.

The other three victims were able to exit the Nissan and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, for treatment of their wounds.

Pedroza fled the scene of the crash on foot and entered a nearby apartment complex.  He was later found hiding under a bed in his apartment.  The police arrested him on multiple counts including DUI and vehicular manslaughter.  He was taken to the hospital for injuries and then later jailed, awaiting trial.

Multiple Car Accidents in Fresno County, Both on Highway 180

November 22, 2014- Two separate vehicle collision leave one person dead and others injured, in west Fresno County.  The car accidents both happened on Highway 180, on Saturday evening.

The first incident involved four vehicles on Highway 180, near San Mateo, at about 5:30 PM.  A pickup truck was reported to have been traveling west when it veered into the eastbound lane and smashed head-on into another vehicle.  Two other cars headed east then collided into the back of the initial crash.

The pickup driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  A woman involved in the accident was also hurt and taken to the hospital.

The second collision ended in fatality and occurred at about 5:45 PM, on eastbound 180 and Howard Avenue, near Kerman.

 A Fresno woman died at the scene after her car struck the back of a pickup towing a trailer.  The woman’s car hit the truck that was stopped and about to turn northbound onto Howard Avenue. The California Highway Patrol reported that the truck was hard to see as the trailer had no properly equipped lighting, including brakes and turn signals.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  The truck driver sustained injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Semi Truck Crash in Tulare County on Road 80 and Avenue 368

On Monday, November 17, 2014, a big rig collision ended in fatality, north of Visalia.  The Tulare County tractor-trailer accident occurred at about 7:10 PM.

Olivia Thomason of Porterville, was driving a 2003 Toyota 4Runner east on Avenue 368.  The Toyota came to the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80 and had a green light at the posted traffic light.

As the SUV drove into the intersection a Kenworth semi truck, that was headed south on Road 80, ran the red light.  The driver of the big rig, Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was said to have been traveling at about 55 mph when he collided the Toyota.

DUI Car Collision Kills Two People in Fresno, on Chestnut Avenue

November 22, 2014- A fiery automobile collision ended in fatality for a mother and daughter, in southeast Fresno.  The car accident happened on Saturday, at about 11:20 PM, at Chestnut and Jensen avenues.

Jacqueline Rivera was driving a Nissan Pathfinder, with her family, when she stopped at a red light, in the right lane of Chestnut Avenue, at East Jensen Avenue.

A Suzuki SUV, driven by Rafael Arce Pedroza, was traveling at a high rate of speed on Chestnut, and struck the Nissan from behind.  Pedroza then fled from the scene of the crash on foot.

The impact of the collision caused the gas tank to rupture in the Pathfinder, and the vehicle burst into flames.  The vehicle was knocked into a light pole in the northeast corner of the intersection, after it flipped three times.

Rivera's husband, Jose Chavez, their son, also named Jose, and a 16 year old girlfriend; Savanni Ung, all escaped the burning vehicle.

Jacqueline Rivera and her daughter, 11 year old Aaliyah Chavez, were knocked unconscious in the accident.  They were not able to save them from the vehicle in time and did not survive.

Investigators do not know at this time whether Rivera and Aaliyah died before the car caught fire, but they did not appear to be pinned in the vehicle.

Chavez, his son, and Ung, all sustained minor to moderate injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Pedroza was later found in his apartment hiding under his bed.  He suffered injuries in the collision as well and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.  He was arrested on two charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, hit and run, and other charges.

9-Vehicle Pileup Collision in Bakersfield on West Highway 58

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Thursday, November 13, 2014, a multi-car accident shuts down part of the freeway in Bakersfield.  The 9-vehicle pileup took place on Highway 58, at approximately 8 AM.

The CHP reported that the automobile collision involved at least nine cars.  One of the vehicles in the crash caught on fire.  The fast lane and the median on the westbound highway, east of Union Avenue, was closed to traffic.  The freeway was opened after investigators and emergency crews cleared the scene.

Big Rig Accident North of Visalia Ends In Fatality for Porterville Woman

November 17, 2014- A semi truck accident took the life of a Porterville woman, in Tulare County.  The big rig collision occurred outside of Visalia, at approximately 7:10 PM.

Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was driving a Kenworth tractor-trailer south on Road 80 at about 55 miles per hour.  The semi was reported to have driven through a red light, at the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 368.

The big rig collided into a 2003 Toyota 4Runner, driven by Olivia Thomason/Thompson, of Porterville.  The Toyota was traveling eastbound on Avenue 368 and had the right of way.

After the semi truck hit the 4Runner, the SUV careened across the roadway and smashed into a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer.

Thomason died at the scene of the crash.  Hernandez suffered moderate injuries, and the driver of the Chevy; William Celaya of Dinuba, was not injured.

Hernandez could face charges of vehicular manslaughter for the accident.

Pickup Truck Collision Leaves Man Seriously Injured in Visalia on Chinowith Street

November 19, 2014- A pickup truck collision leaves elderly man seriously hurt, in Tulare County.  The vehicle accident occurred in Visalia, on Wednesday, at about 8:30 PM.

Jose Luis Martinez, 70 years old, was driving a Nissan truck south on Chinowith Street, near Country Avenue.  The pickup truck collided with a Dodge truck driven by Jessica Nicole Watson, as the vehicle was backing out of a driveway.

Martinez suffered serious injuries and was taken, by ambulance, to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment.  It is reported that he is in critical condition.

Two boys who were also in the Nissan sustained injuries and taken to the hospital.

Semi Truck Collision Kills Porterville Woman in Tulare County

Central California Accident Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent collision report; On Monday, November 17, 2014, an automobile accident in Tulare County ended fatally.  The big rig crash happened north of Visalia, at about 7:10 PM.

Olivia Thomason or Thompson, of Porterville, was driving a 2003 Toyota 4Runner east on Avenue 368.  At the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80 the traffic light was green for her to continue to drive.

The impact sent the SUV across the intersection and into a 2003 Chevy Blazer, driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  Hernandez sustained moderate injuries, and Celaya was not hurt.

Hernandez was not arrested at the scene of the incident, but could face charges of vehicular manslaughter.

Pedestrian Accident Kills Girl in Porterville on Tyler Avenue

November 9, 2014- A pedestrian accident in Tulare County, ended in fatality, on Sunday evening.  The hit-and-run auto collision occurred in Porterville, at approximately 6 PM.

18 year old Adolfo Balbuena was reported to have been driving while intoxicated in the area of Tyler Avenue and Conner Street.  He was driving erratically and the 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo he was driving, smashed through a fence and hit an ice cream truck that was parked at the side of the road.

The Chevrolet hit and pinned three kids to the truck, before backing up and driving away.  One of the children was Angeles Moreno.  She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The other two minors, and one of the ice cream truck vendors, sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as well.

Authorities later found Balbuena in a backyard, after his brother was reported to have picked him up and dropped him off at the place of residence.

He has been arrested and officials are waiting on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, as to whether Balbuena will face charges.  He is an illegal immigrant and could be deported back to Mexico.

Multi-Vehicle Accident in Bakersfield on State Route 58

November 13, 2014- A 9-car pileup was reported by the CHP in Kern County on Thursday.  The multiple vehicle collision occurred in Bakersfield, on Highway 58, at about 8 AM.

The California Highway Patrol said that at least one of the vehicles involved in the crash caught fire.  The incident blocked the fast lane of the freeway, east of Union Avenue.  The median was also blocked.  Traffic was slowed until the accident could be investigated and the wreckage cleared.

Motorcycle and Truck Collision on Highway 58 in Kern County

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Monday, November 17, 2014, a motorcycle accident ended in fatality.  The pickup truck collision happened in Kern County, at about 5:30 AM.

Allen Wayne Siedmiorka, 44 years old, was riding his motorcycle on Highway 58.  A pickup truck attempted to turn at the intersection of State Route 58 and Wasco Way, and the biker collided with the side of the vehicle.

Siedmiorka was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Hit and Run Car Accident Kills Little Girl in Porterville

An update to the hit and run accident that occurred on Sunday, November 9, 2014, in Tulare County.  The car collision left a 3 year old fatally wounded, in Porterville, at about 6 PM.

Adolfo Balbuena, 18 years old, was driving drunk near Tyler Avenue and Conner Street, in a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.  The Chevy was westbound on Tyler Ave. when Balbuena lost control and swerved off the road.

The vehicle crashed into a fence and then hit an ice cream truck that was parked at the side of the street, where a group of pedestrians were standing.  The Monte Carlo collided with three children, including the 3 year old girl, Angeles Moreno, and pinned them to the truck.

Balbuena then backed up and fled the scene.  It has now been reported that he called his brother to pick him up.  The brother later admitted to dropping Balbuena off at a friend's house, where the police later found him hiding in the backyard and arrested him.

Angeles Moreno was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia, with major injuries.  She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The two other children and one of the ice cream truck vendors were also injured and taken for treatment to the hospital.

Balbuena for the moment remains in jail, but it has been uncovered that he is an illegal immigrant.  So it is up to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services whether he will face charges and go to prison if found guilty.

Nine Car Pile Up on Highway 58 in Bakersfield Car Collision

On Thursday, November 13, 2014, a 9-car pileup on westbound Highway 58 slowed traffic, in Kern County.  The multiple vehicle collision happened in Bakersfield, at about 8 AM.

The automobile accident took place just east of Union Avenue, on the westbound freeway.  The California Highway Patrol reported that at least one vehicle was on fire.

The fast lane and the median were blocked.  The traffic was slowed to 22 miles per hour while crews cleared the wreckage.

Three Year Old Struck and Killed by Car in Porterville on Tyler Avenue

November 9, 2014- a hit and run vehicle accident leaves a toddler fatally wounded, in Tulare County.  The pedestrian collision took place in Porterville, on Sunday, at about 6 PM.

Angeles Moreno, 3 years old, and her family were out buying some ice cream, from a ice cream truck at Tyler Avenue.  She, and two other children,walked out to the truck, when a car, driven by Adolfo Balbuena, drove through a fence and into the truck.

The Chevrolet Monte Carlo pinned the three kids to the truck, before Balbuena back up and drove away.  It has been reported that he was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Moreno was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.  The two other children and one of the truck's vendors suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.

Balbeuna was apprehended a short time later.  He was found hiding in a yard and was not hurt in the crash.  Officials have now reported that he is in the country illegally.

Multi-Vehicle Accident at Highway 46 and Interstate 5 in Kern County

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Saturday, November 8, 2014, a multiple vehicle accident ends in fatality.  The Kern County car collision happened on Interstate 5 near Lost Hills, at about 3 PM.

Terry Mishler, 68 years old, was driving a 2013 Dodge pickup truck while pulling a travel trailer, on southbound I-5.  The Dodge traveled onto the State Route 46 off-ramp, at the same time that Joan Marie Albert, of Alto Loma, was driving her 2008 Ford west on Highway 46 and south I-5.

It is reported that Mishler did not stop at the red light and attempted to make a right turn onto westbound Hwy 46, right when the Ford entered the intersection.  The Dodge truck and the Ford crashed into each other.

The impact sent Albert's vehicle into a light pole, while the Dodge continued across the on-ramp where it collided with a 2004 Ford that was going east on State Route 46 to southbound Interstate 5.  The pickup truck then drove off the road and down a dirt embankment.

Joan Albert died as a result of the collision.  Mishler, and the other victim sustained minor injuries in the wreck.

Fog Related Car Crashes on Northbound Highway 99 in Fresno

On Monday, November 10, 2014, one family was involved in two separate accidents, both fog related.  The car colllisions took place in Fresno County, at about 4 AM.

One man was driving on northbound Highway 99, at Chestnut Avenue, when he crashed because of low visibility.  The driver's automobile caught fire, but he was able to get out.

The man's wife and daughter were rushing to find him when their car crashed at Maple and Central avenues in Easton, because of fog as well.  Their car ended up in a canal.

All three victims received only minor injuries in both incidents.

Toddler Girl Killed in Hit and Run Accident in Porterville

On Sunday, November 9, 2014, a 3 year old child was killed in a hit-and-run auto collision, in Tulare County.  The pedestrian accident occurred in Porterville, at approximately 6 PM.

The CHP have reported that Adolfo Balbuena, 18 years old, was driving a 2005 Chevy Monte Carlo sedan, while intoxicated.  He was traveling west on Tyler Avenue, when the car veered off the roadway, and onto the dirt shoulder of Tyler Ave.

The Chevrolet crashed into a fence and then into an ice cream truck that was parked at the side of the road, where a group of pedestrians were gathered.

The car hit the little girl, who has now been identified Angeles Moreno, and two other children and pinned them to the truck.  The Chevy then backed up and drove away from the scene of the crash.

Balbuena was later found hiding in the backyard, and was arrested.  It has been reported that he was an illegal immigrant.

Fatal Hit and Run Collision near Tyler Avenue in Porterville

November 9, 2014- A hit-and-run accident ends in fatality for a 3 year old girl, in Tulare County.  The car collision took place in Porterville, on Sunday, at approximately 6 PM.

The toddler girl and two other children were near an ice cream truck, on Tyler Avenue and South Conner Street.  A white car struck the kids, pinning them against the truck.

The sedan then backed up and drove off.  The driver was found hiding in a nearby backyard by the police.  He is said to be between the ages of 18 and 35 years of age.

The 3 year old died a short time later at Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  The two other kids and an ice cream truck vendor were injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Motorcycle Collision on Feland Avenue in Fresno

Pedestrian Fatality in Patrol Car Accident on Santa Fe Street in Visalia

On early Saturday morning, November 1, 2014, a Visalia police officer was involved in a pedestrian collision.  The patrol car accident took place on Santa Fe Street, at about 1:30 AM, and ended in fatality.

Officer Max Navo was driving his police vehicle on Santa Fe Street in response to a call about a disturbance.  He is reported to have been going down the roadway at 30 miles per hour, when a pedestrian stepped into the street, in front of him.

The man was Rodrigo Cabral, who had reportedly been knocked down by two other men.  When he got up he walked into the road at the time the patrol car was passing by.  Officer Navo attempted to put on his brakes and swerve to the left, but did not do it in time.  The vehicle hit Cabral and injured him severely.

Cabral was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia, where he was pronounced dead just a short time later.

Vehicle Accident in Tulare County on Avenue 208 & Road 216 near Lindsay

November 4, 2014- A Tulare County vehicle accident leaves two people injured.  The car collision happened near Lindsay, on Tuesday, at about 11:30 AM.

Clara Jane Thurman, of Tulare, was driving in the area of Avenue 208 and Road 216, when she reportedly ran a marked stop sign at the intersection.  Her vehicle drove into the path of another car driven by, Patricia Soto, of Strathmore, and the two automobiles collided.

Thurman suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  Soto sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Visalia Police Officer Involved in Auto Collision With Pedestrian

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Saturday, November 1, 2014, a pedestrian collision involving a police officer, ends in fatality.  The patrol car accident took place in Visalia, at approximately 1:30 AM.

Visalia Police Officer Max Navo was traveling on Santa Fe Street, driving to the scene of a disturbance that was called in, at 30 mph.  As the patrol vehicle was headed down the roadway, Rodrigo Cabral, of Avenal walked into the street.  Some witnesses said he was trying to flag down the officer.

The pedestrian had been in an altercation with two other men, just seconds before walking into the road.  Navo saw the man at the last minute and tried to swerve and brake to avoid hitting him.  It did not happen in time and the car struck Cabral.

Cabral suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he later died from his wounds.

Avenal Man Killed in Car Accident with Visalia Police Vehicle

November 1, 2014- an Avenal man was struck and killed by a patrol car in Visalia, early Saturday.  The vehicle collision occurred on Santa Fe Street at about 1:30 AM.

Rodrigo Cabral, 27 years old, of Avenal, was walking along Santa Fe Street, when he and two other men got into an altercation.  It is reported that he got knocked down and the other pedestrians left.  When he got up he walked into the roadway, some have reported that it was to flag down the oncoming police car.

Officer Max Navo was driving the patrol vehicle, responding to a call about a disturbance.  It is reported that he was going 30 miles per hour, when Cabral appeared in the street.  Navo attempted to brake and swerve out of the way, but did not do it in time and hit the pedestrian.

Cabral was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia, to be treated for his serious injuries.  He was pronounced dead a short time later.

Bernadine Mannon, who is familiar with that stretch of Santa Fe Street, reported that that area of roadway is very dark.  It makes it hard to see anyone at night as you drive down the street.  Cabral was hit in an area of the road where there is just one sidewalk on the west side, and only a dirt shoulder on the east.

Turlock Automobile Collision on Geer Road Ends in Fatality

November 6, 2014- A car accident killed one elderly man after he was hit on Thursday.  The pedestrian collision took place in Turlock, at about 1 PM.

A 66 year old man was walking west across Geer Road, outside of a crosswalk.  A silver Toyota, driven by an 83 year old woman, attempted to turn right onto Geer, from Minnesota Avenue.  As the Toyota was turning at a low rate of speed, the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.

The man suffered serious head trauma, and was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Fatal Rollover Crash on Highway 99 Near Visalia

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Monday, November 3, 2014, a Visalia woman was killed in a vehicle collision.  The rollover crash took place on Highway 99, in Tulare County, at 6 AM.

A 50 year old woman was driving a Honda Accord on southbound Highway 99, near Visalia.  The driver attempted to avoid a collision while changing lanes on the freeway.  She swerved and lost control of the Honda.

The Accord overturned multiple times, and one of the two passengers in the car was ejected.  The 60 year old woman who was thrown from the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The driver suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.  The second passenger; a 52 year old woman, sustained minor injuries.

Patrol Car Hits Pedestrian in Collision on Santa Fe Street in Visalia

November 1, 2014- A car collision between a police cruiser and a pedestrian, ended in fatality, in Visalia.  The Tulare County vehicle accident happened on Saturday, at about 1:30 AM.  The officer has now been identified as Max Navo.

Officer Max Navo was traveling down Santa Fe Street at about 30 mph, when a pedestrian, 27 year old Rodrigo Cabral, stepped out into the street.  Rodrigo was reported to have been walking with two other men, when a fight occurred between them.

Cabral fell to the ground, and when he got up he walked into the street, possibly to flag the cop car down.  The officer was said to have swerved to avoid the pedestrian, but wasn't able to get out of the way in time.

Cabral was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, after suffering major injuries.  He was pronounced dead at the hospital at about 2:13 AM.

The California Highway Patrol have reported that it appears the collision was purely accidental.

DUI Collision on Highway 41 near Hanford Involving Paso Robles Man

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Saturday, November 1, 2014 a suspected intoxicated driver was arrested after a car accident, in Kings County.  The vehicle collision happened on Highway 41, near Hanford, just before midnight.

Jeffrey Rougeot, of Paso Robles, was traveling northbound on Highway 41, when he was reported to have made a u-turn into the path of another vehicle.  That vehicle was driven by Natalia Castellano, 36 years old, who was head south on the freeway.

Both Rougeot and Castellano suffered serious injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Castellano also had two children in her car; a 1 year old boy and a 3 year old girl.  The kids both sustained minor injuries.

Jeffrey Rougeot has been arrested on DUI charges.

Fatal Pedestrian Accident with Police Car on Santa Fe Street in Visalia

On Saturday, November 1, 2014, a pedestrian collision took place in Visalia.  The police car collision occurred on Santa Fe Street, at about 1:30 AM.

Rodrigo Cabral was the pedestrian that was struck by a patrol car, as the Visalia Police Officer was responding to a call about a disturbance.  The vehicle was southbound on Santa Fe Street, south of Grove Avenue.

Witnesses said that there was an altercation between Cabral and other two men.  Cabral fell to the ground during the skirmish.  When he got up, for an unknown reason, it was reported, that he ran into the street in front of the police automobile.

The officer put on his brakes and tried to swerve to the left, as he attempted to avoid hitting the man, but was unable to avoid the collision.

The pedestrian suffered major injuries, and was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 2:13 AM.

Pedestrian Accident Involving Police Officer in Visalia on Santa Fe Street and Grove Avenue

November 1, 2014- A deadly car accident involving a police officer, took place in Tulare County.  The vehicle collision left one pedestrian fatally wounded, in Visalia, on Saturday, at about 1:30 AM.

Rodrigo Cabral, 27 years old, was walking with two other men down the street.  He is reported to have been in the middle of the road, at Santa Fe Street and Grove Avenue.

A Visalia police officer who was responding to a disturbance, was traveling down the roadway, when he came upon the pedestrian.  It is reported that he tried to swerve and avoid Cabral, but could not, and ended up hitting him.

Cabral suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, for treatment.  He later died in the hospital from his wounds.

Rodrigo Cabral's brother, Alfredo Conchas, said that his family did not find out that it was a Visalia Police Officer who struck and killed Cabral, until they saw it on the news.
