Kern County Multiple Car Collision on Highway 204 in Bakersfield

December 18, 2014- A 4-car pileup took place on Golden State Highway, in Bakersfield.  The multi-vehicle accident occurred on Thursday, on eastbound Highway 204, at about 7:40 AM.

Officers have reported that the Golden State Highway crash between the four autos happened at F Street.  The eastbound freeway was slowed for two hours for investigation and clean up.

Drunk Driving Accident Kills One on Highway 43, near Delano

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Sunday, December 28, 2014, a head-on collision ended in fatality.  The DUI car accident took place northwest of Delano, on Highway 43, at about 2:25 AM.

A 2003 GMC pickup truck, driven by Otilia Pineda, of Allensworth, was northbound on Highway 43.  Just south of Avenue 16, the pickup drifted into the opposite lane of traffic.

A 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale, was traveling south on the highway when the GMC veered into the lane.  The male driver, in his 50's, attempted to avoid the collision, by swerving onto the right shoulder of the road.  But the vehicles crashed head-on.

Pineda was reported to have fled the scene of the wreck.  Officers found her at her home, and arrested her for driving under the influence and other crimes.  She was on probation for one prior DUI at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Oldsmobile died at the scene.

5-Car Collision in Kern County on Gosford Road and District Boulevard

On Sunday, December 28, 2014, a 5-car collision occurred in Bakersfield, in the morning hours.  The Kern County multiple vehicle crash happened at the intersection of Gosford Road and District Boulevard.

Officers said that three vehicles initially collided into each other at Gosford Rd. and District Blvd.  Then the impact of the accident caused the cars to run into two other automobiles.

There were at least two victims in the incident that were hurt.

Vehicle Accident Between Pickup and Semi Truck on Highway 198, near Visalia

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent update; On Saturday, December 20, 2014, a fatal vehicle collision happened on Highway 198.  The Tulare County semi truck accident occurred just west of Visalia, at approximately 1:42 PM.

A 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was traveling east on Highway 198, near Road 60.  The truck, which was driven by Joseph Oliveira, of Porterville, was driving in the lefthand lane on the freeway.

For an unknown reason the Chevrolet drifted into the right lane and smashed into the back of a big rig, that was driven by William Weber, of Visalia.  The semi was carrying milk at the time of the crash.

Oliveira was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  It is reported that he was not wearing his seat belt when the incident happened.

Weber was reported to have been uninjured.

Head-on Collision Ends in Fatality near Delano, in Tulare County

December 28, 2014- A vehicle accident ends fatally in southern Tulare County.  The head-on crash took place northwest of Delano, on Sunday, at about 2:25 AM.  Alcohol is reported to have possibly been a factor.

Otilia Pineda, 22, of Allensworth, was driving a 2003 GMC pickup truck, north on Highway 43, south of Avenue 16.  The truck veered into the southbound lane of the highway, and into the path of a 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale.

The male driver of the Oldsmobile swerved onto the right shoulder of the roadway, but was unable to avoid the collision.

Pineda fled the scene of the crash, but authorities found and arrested her at her home a short time later.  Officers reported that she had one prior DUI and was on probation at the time of the accident.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  His name has not yet been released, but he is said to have been in his 50's.

Police Officer Injured in Head-on Collision in Atwater

Central California Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Saturday, December 27, 2014, a head-on collision sends one police officer to the hospital.  The Merced County car accident occurred at about 8 PM, in Atwater.

A woman, with four passengers, was driving a car on Atwater Boulevard.  She attempted to make a left turn near Shaffer Road, and pulled out into the path of a patrol car.  The two vehicles hit head-on.

The Atwater police officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.  Two children in the other automobile were also hurt, but family members chose to seek their own medical treatment.

Multiple Vehicle Accident on Gosford Road in Bakersfield

December 28, 2014- A multi-vehicle collision took place in Kern County, on Sunday morning.  The five-car accident happened in Bakersfield.

Officials reported that three automobiles collided, at Gosford Road and District Boulevard.  The impact of that crash propelled the vehicles into two more cars.

4-Car Pileup in Bakersfield on Golden State Highway

Tulare County Accident Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent collision report; On Thursday, December 18, 2014, a multi-car accident occurred on Highway 204.  The Bakersfield vehicle crash took place on the eastbound Golden State Highway, at about 7:40 AM.

The California Highway Patrol said that the vehicle collision happened at F Street on the freeway.  Traffic blocked the highway for about two hours while the wreckage was cleared.

Tulare County Big Rig Accident on Highway 198, Near Visalia

On Saturday, December 20, 2014, a pickup truck collided with a semi truck on Highway 198.  A Porterville man was killed in the vehicle collision that took place west of Visalia, at about 1:42 PM.

Joseph Oliveira, 44, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado, eastbound on Highway 198, east of Road 60.  The pickup truck was in the left lane of the freeway, when for an unexplained reason the vehicle veered into the right-hand lane and ran into the back of a tractor-trailer carrying milk.

Oliveira was reported to have not been wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.  He died at the scene of the crash.

The big rig driver, William Weber, of Visalia, was not harmed in the collision.

Motorcycle Crash on Highway 184 in Lamont Ends in Fatality

Bakersfield, Fresno, Visalia Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, a motorcycle accident ends fatally, in Lamont.  The vehicle collision took place on Highway 184, at about 7:00 AM.

The motorcyclist, Leonel Moreno Morales, 19 years old, was traveling on his bike on Highway 184.  A silver automobile was driving in front of the motorcycle, and turned off the highway to enter a gas station parking lot.  Morales did not slow the vehicle down in time, at crashed into the back of the car.

The biker was ejected from the motorcycle.  He suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.  Morales died from his injuries while at the hospital, on Tuesday, December 16.

Fatal Fuel Tanker and Automobile Accident in Fresno County on Fowler Avenue near Selma

Thursday, December 18, 2014, an automobile collision took place in Fresno County.  The fatal semi truck accident happened southwest of Selma, at about 11:30 AM.

Edwin Camp, of Kingsburg was driving a white Lexus east on Conejo Avenue.  At the intersection of Conejo and Fowler avenues the car ran the stop sign.  The Lexus smashed into a Chevron tanker truck that was carrying fuel.  The vehicle hit the cab of the big rig.

The tanker had been traveling north on Fowler Avenue when the car crashed into it.  The impact from the wreck sent both vehicles north down the street.  The tractor-trailer overturned and leaked diesel fuel, but no major problems occurred.

It is reported that Camp was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident.  Emergency personnel used the jaws of life to extract him from his car.  He sustained major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Camp later died in the hospital from his injuries.

A passenger in the automobile and the driver of the semi were also hurt.  They were taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment.

Highway 198 Pickup Truck and Big Rig Collision, West of Visalia

December 20, 2014- A Porterville man was killed in a vehicle accident with a semi truck, on Highway 198.  The pickup truck collision happened just west of Visalia, on Saturday, at about 1:42 PM.

A white, 1999 Chevy Silverado pickup truck, driven by Joseph Oliveira, 44 years old, was traveling east on Highway 198, in the left lane.  For an unknown reason, the Chevrolet drifted into the right lane of the freeway, and smashed into the back of a big rig carrying milk.  The accident took place east of Road 60.

Oliveira was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  It has been reported that he was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the incident.

The driver of the semi truck, William Weber, of Visalia, was not injured in the wreck.

Motorcyclist Killed in Kern County Collision on Highway 184

On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, a motorcyclist was involved in a fatal vehicle accident, in Lamont.  The Kern County motorcycle collision happened at approximately 7 AM, on Highway 184.

A silver car was reported to have been turning off Highway 184, into a gas station parking lot.  Leonel Moreno Morales, 19, was riding his motorcycle on the highway behind the vehicle.  The bike did not slow in time and it hit the back of the automobile.

Morales was thrown from the vehicle, and sustained major injuries.  He was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.  He died from his wounds, in the hospital, on Tuesday, December 16.

Elderly Woman Killed in Automobile Accident in Visalia, on Ben Maddox Way

An update to the pedestrian accident that occurred on Saturday, December 13, 2014.  The elderly victim has been identified, in the car collision that took place in Visalia, at about 7 PM.

The 82 year old woman has been identified as Na Bae.  Bae had been walking east across Ben Maddox Way, near Douglas Avenue.  A silver Subaru, driven by Henry Mischalk, of Washington, was traveling north on Ben Maddox when he hit the pedestrian.

Bae sustained serious head injuries.  She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Tanker Truck Collision in Selma, on Fowler and Conejo Avenues

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Thursday, December 18, 2014, a car and diesel tanker truck collided southwest of Selma.  The Fresno County big rig collision happened at approximately 11:30 AM.

A white Lexus driven by a 74 year old man, was traveling east on Conejo Avenue.  The Lexus did not stop at a stop sign that was posted at the intersection of Fowler Avenue.  The car collided with the cab of a Chevron tanker that was carrying fuel.

The semi truck had been driving north on Fowler Ave, when the Lexus hit it.  The impact sent both vehicles northbound down the roadway.

December 18, 2014- A multi-vehicle collision took place in Bakersfield, on Thursday.  The 4-car accident happened on east Golden State Highway, at about 7:40 AM.

The CHP reported that the four car crash took place on Highway 204, at F Street.  Traffic was blocked on the eastbound freeway until about 9 AM.

Motorcycle Accident on Highway 184 in Lamont, 19 Year Old Fatally Wounded

December 10, 2014- A motorcycle collision occurred in Kern County, on Wednesday.  The vehicle accident happened in Lamont, at about 7 AM.

The incident took place when an automobile turned off Highway 184 to drive into a gas station parking lot.  The motorcyclist, Leonel Moreno Morales, 19 years old, was traveling on the highway on his bike.

Morales didn't slow his motorcycle down in time and collided with the back of the silver car.  He was ejected from the vehicle.

Morales suffered serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.  It has now been reported that he has died Tuesday, December 16, from his injuries.

Car Accident West of Porterville, on Highway 190 Kills One Person

A female driver, 44, was traveling with her passenger, Virginia Perez, of Porterville, in a 1996 Chevy car, on Highway 190.  The Chevrolet stopped on the highway, east of Road 193, to make a left turn into a private residence.

A 1999 Ford, driven by a Strathmore man, 22, was driving on the highway at about 58 miles per hour, when it crashed into the back of the other vehicle.

Perez suffered major injuries.  She was taken to Sierra View Medical Center, where she later died.

Fresno County Auto Collision near School Ends in Fatality on Shields & Leonard Avenues

The incident happened as a white Toyota was traveling on Shields Avenue.  At the intersection of Shields Ave and Leonard Avenue, the car and a Ford Edge collided.  The collision caused the Toyota to end up in an orchard, near the high school.

Bill Moua, 14, a passenger in the Toyota, driven by his older brother, was killed in the crash.

Moua's brother sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Big Rig Collision on Highway 43 Kills Corcoran Man, in Kings County

On Friday, December 12, 2014, a big rig accident leads to fatality, in Kings County.  The semi truck crash happened on Highway 43, and killed a 60 year old Corcoran man.

A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck, driven by the victim, was headed south on Highway 43.  He crossed over the center line of the highway, to attempt to pass a vehicle in front of him.

The Chevy hit a semi truck driven by Jorge Sousa-Lima of Tulare, that was traveling north on the roadway.  The two vehicles crashed head-on, in the northbound lane.

The Corcoran man was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.  Sousa-Lima was not injured.

SUV Collides with Truck After Running Red Lights, in Fresno, on First Street

December 15, 2014- An SUV collision leaves one driver seriously hurt, in northeast Fresno.  The pickup truck accident took place on Monday, at about 11:30 AM.

A male employee at Wolters Elementary School, was driving his white pickup truck, turning south from the school parking lot onto First Street.

A red SUV, also driven by a man, was traveling north on First Street at about 60 mph.  The Sport Utility Vehicle, witnesses say, ran a red light at Shaw Avenue, and then one at San Jose Avenue.  The SUV then smashed into the pickup truck after running the red lights.

The impact of the collision caused the pickup truck driver to be ejected from his vehicle.

The truck driver suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  The SUV driver was also hurt.  He is possibly facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.

Highway 99 North Lanes Blocked from Semi Truck Accident, in Madera County

Head-on Car Crash on Panama Lane in Bakersfield Kills One

Visalia Accident Attorney John Rozier has the subsequent collision report; On Wednesday, December 10, 2014, a female driver was killed in a head-on collision, in Bakersfield.  The fatal vehicle accident occurred at approximately 5:15-5:30 AM, on Panama Lane, in Kern County.

Graciela Savedra, the driver of a silver Pontiac, was headed down Panama Lane, near the intersection of Cottonwood Road.  The vehicle veered into the other lane of traffic, and collided head-on with another car.  That car was driven by a 45 year old male driver.

Elderly Pedestrian Struck in Car Collision on Ben Maddox Way, in Visalia

December 13, 2014- An elderly woman was killed in an automobile accident, in Visalia.  The Tulare County vehicle collision happened on Saturday, at about 7 PM.

The Visalia Police reported that the female pedestrian was walking eastbound across Ben Maddox Way, near Douglas Avenue, when a silver Subaru hit her.

The Subaru was driven by, Henry Michalk, of Washington.  He was driving his vehicle northbound at the time of the collision.

Vehicle Collision in Tulare County on Highway 190 Ends in Fatality

On Monday, December 1, 2014, a Porterville woman was killed in a car accident, in Tulare County.  The vehicle collision occurred on Highway 190, at about 10:15 AM.

A 44 year old female driver, was driving a 1996 Chevrolet automobile on Highway 190, east of Road 193.  Virginia Perez, was a passenger in the Chevy.  The car stopped on the roadway to make a left-hand turn into a private driveway, when it was hit from behind by a 1999 Ford.

The Ford was driven by a 22 year old Strathmore man, who was reported to have been traveling at 58 mph when it rear-ended the Chevy.

Perez sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Sierra View Medical Center, in Porterville.  She died from her wounds while in the hospital.

No reports on the condition of the other two victims in the accident.

Semi Truck and Pickup Crash Head-on in Kings County, on Highway 43

December 12, 2014- A fatal semi truck collision took place in Kings County, on Friday.  The big rig accident occurred on Highway 43, south of Fargo Avenue.

A 60 year old driver, of a 2007 Chevy pickup truck was traveling southbound on Highway 43.  The Corcoran man attempted to pass a vehicle that was in front of him.  He crossed over the center line and crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer that was headed north.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  Jorge Sousa-Lima of Tulare, who was driving the semi truck, was not hurt in the incident.

The California Highway Patrol reported that Highway 43 will be closed from Fargo Avenue to 8 1/2 Avenue for two hours, for investigation and clean up of the wreckage.

Car Accident Near Clovis East High School Kills One, in Fresno on Shields Avenue

On December 5, 2014, a two-car accident ends in fatality, in Fresno County.  The vehicle collision happened on Friday, near Clovis East High School, at approximately 7:40 AM.

A white Toyota automobile was traveling in the area of Shields and Leonard avenues.  Bill Moua, 14, the younger brother of the driver, was also in the vehicle.

At the intersection, the Toyota and a Ford Edge crashed into each other.  The impact of the collision sent the Toyota into an orchard, south of the high school.

Moua was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.  His brother suffered major injuries.  He was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

There is no information if any occupants in the Ford were hurt.

Bakersfield Head-on Collision Ends Fatally on Panama Lane

December 10, 2014- A fatal car crash took the life of a 24 year old woman, in Kern County.  The head-on collision took place on Wednesday, in Bakersfield, at about 5:15 AM.

Graciela Savedra was traveling on Panama Lane, near Cottonwood Road.  The CHP reported that she made an unsafe turning movement into oncoming traffic.

The vehicle crashed head-on into another car, driven by a 45 year old man.

Savedra was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  The other driver was not hurt.

Porterville Woman Killed in Car Accident on Highway 190

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; A rear-end vehicle collision ends in fatality, on Monday, December 1, 2014.  The car accident occurred west of Porterville, at approximately 10:15 AM, on Highway 190.

A 1996 Chevy vehicle, driven by a 44 year old woman, was traveling on Highway 190, when it stopped to turn left into a private driveway.  Virginia Perez, of Porterville, was a passenger in the Chevrolet.

A Strathmore man, 22 years old, was driving a 1999 Ford at about 58 miles per hour, when it crashed into the back of the Chevy.  The incident took place east of Road 193.

Perez suffered major injuries and was rushed to Sierra View Medical Center.  She later died while in the hospital.

It is not known whether the other two people involved in the crash were hurt.

SUV and School Bus Collision in East-Central Fresno

December 3, 2014- A school bus accident occurred in Fresno, on Wednesday.  The collision involved a bus and an SUV, at about 8:15 AM.

The CHP said that the accident between the Sport Utility Vehicle, and the school bus took place at the intersection of East Olive and North Helm avenues.

One person in the SUV was injured and taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  It is reported that there were kids riding on the bus, but they were uninjured.

Two Semi Trucks Collide on Highway 99 in Merced County

December 4, 2014- A big rig accident took place in Merced County, early Thursday morning.  The semi truck collision happened at about 1 AM, on Highway 99.

Two big rigs collided on Highway 99, near Le Grand Road.  Authorities reported that both drivers were going too fast, for the rainy road conditions at the time of the crash.

One of the tractor-trailers ended up off the freeway.  One lane of the road was closed to traffic until the wreckage could be cleaned up.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

Two-Vehicle Accident in Fresno County Ends in Fatality, Near Clovis East High School

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Friday, December 5, 2014, a teenager was killed in a car collision.  The accident took place in Fresno County, at about 7:40 AM, near Clovis East High School.

Bill Moua, a 14 year old boy, was traveling in a white Toyota car, that was being driven by his older brother.  A Ford Edge vehicle and the Toyota collided at the intersection of Leonard Avenue, and Shields Avenue.  

The impact of the accident pushed the Toyota into a nearby orchard, south of the high school.

Tulare County Auto Collision West of Porterville on Highway 190

On Monday, December 1, 2014, a Porterville woman was killed in a vehicle accident.  The Tulare County car collision occurred west of Porterville, at about 10:15 AM.

A 22 year old Strathmore man, was driving a 1999 Ford, west on Highway 190.  The Ford was moving at a speed of 58 mph, when the vehicle smashed into the back of a Chevy, east of Road 193.

The 1996 Chevrolet, driven by a 44 year old woman, was stopped on the westbound highway, in an attempt to make a left-hand turn into a private driveway.  The passenger in the Chevy automobile was Virginia Perez, of Porterville.

Perez sustained major injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to Sierra View Medical Center.  She later died in the hospital.

Teenager Killed in Automobile Collision in Fresno, on Shields & Leonard Avenues

December 5, 2014- A two-vehicle collision ends in fatality for one 14 year old boy, in Fresno County.  The car accident happened on Friday, at approximately 7:40 AM, near Clovis East High School.

Bill Moua, 14 years old, was a passenger in a white Toyota automobile driven by his brother.  The Toyota crashed with a Ford Edge at the rural intersection of Shields and Leonard avenues, south of the high school.  The Toyota came to rest in an orchard near the intersection.

Moua was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Moua's brother suffered major injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.  The driver of the Ford was expected to be OK.

Interstate 5 Collision near Taft Highway in Kern County

December 5, 2014- A truck collision kills one person in Kern County.  The vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 5, on Friday, at about 12 AM.

A pickup truck was coming off the shoulder of the freeway onto south Interstate 5, near Taft Highway.  As it was entering onto the I-5 highway the vehicle was hit by an oncoming car.

Gary Lewis Repp, of Simi Valley, who was reported to have not been wearing his seatbelt at the time, was ejected from the pickup.

Repp was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision.

No one else was reported to be hurt in the accident.

School Bus Accident on Olive and Helm Avenues in Fresno

December 1, 2014- A Tulare County woman was fatally wounded in a car accident on Monday.  The vehicle collision happened west of Porterville, on Highway 190, at about 10:15 AM.

Big Rig Accident on Highway 58, in Kern County, East of Keene

December 2, 2014- A semi truck collision caused traffic delays in Kern County, on Tuesday.  The big rig accident occurred on Highway 58, near the Keene scales, at about 6 AM.

The CHP reported that a tractor-trailer was involved in the crash that took place on westbound Highway 58 at the Highway 202 off-ramp, east of Keene.  The big rig jacked-knifed in the incident, and blocked both lanes for more than two hours.

There was heavy rain in the area during that time and could have contributed to the crash.

Fresno Hit and Run Car Accident on Jensen and Chestnut Avenues Ends in Double Fatality

Central California Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Saturday, November 22, 2014, DUI crash took place in southeast Fresno, at the Jensen and Chestnut intersection.  The hit and run car accident happened at about 11:20 PM.

Rafael Arce Pedroza, who officers say was driving while intoxicated, was traveling in a Suzuki SUV on Chestnut Avenue.  He was speeding toward the intersection of Chestnut and Jensen avenues, when he hit a Nissan Pathfinder from behind, that was stopped in the right lane, at a red light.

The Nissan was driven by Jacqueline Rivera and also included her husband; Jose Chavez, son; Jose Chavez, daughter; Aaliyah Chavez, 11 years old, and her son's girlfriend; Savanni Ung.

The collision with the Sport Utility Vehicle caused the Pathfinder to overturn multiple times and hit a light pole in the intersection.  The automobile burst into flames, after the gas tank ruptured.

Pedroza was reported to have fled the scene of the accident on foot.  He was later found and arrested in his apartment.

Jose Chavez, his son, and Savanni Ung were all able to get free of the burning vehicle.  While Jacqueline Rivera and her daughter Aaliyah who were unconscious from the collision were not rescued in time.

Pedroza and the three victims in the Pathfinder all suffered minor to moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Car Collides With Truck Trailer in Vehicle Accident on Highway 180 near Kerman

Fresno County automobile acccident ends in fatality, on Saturday November 22, 2014.  The pickup truck collision took place on Highway 180, near Kerman, at approximately 5:45 PM.

A Fresno woman was traveling eastbound in her car, on Highway 180, when she crashed into the back of a pickup truck towing a trailer.  The pickup had been stopped and was getting ready to turn north onto Howard Avenue.

It has been reported by authorities that the trailer on the truck did not have functioning brake lights or turn signals.  So it was hard to see it in the dark.

The car's driver died at the scene of the accident.  The pickup truck driver suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Intoxicated Driver Leads to Fatality on Highway 180 in Multi-Vehicle Collision

An update to the 4-car pileup that took place on Saturday, November 22, 2014, on Highway 180.  One victim was killed in the vehicle collision, in Fresno County, at about 5:30 PM.

Samuel Melendrez, of Mendota, was driving a 1998 Ford F-150 pickup truck, eastbound on Highway 180.  At the same time a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado pickup, towing a horse trailer, was headed west on the freeway.

The driver of the Chevy, Orlando Orozco, of Dos Palos, suddenly swerved across the highway and smashed head-on into the other pickup truck.  Then two other eastbound vehicles crashed into the back of the two pickups.  The wreck occurred near San Mateo Avenue.

Melendrez was fatally wounded and died at the scene of the incident.

Orozco, who was suspected of drunk driving, suffered serious injuries.  He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He was also arrested on driving while under the influence of alcohol.

One other victim was injured, a Kerman woman who was in one of the other vehicles involved in the pileup.  She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Kenworth Semi Truck Collision on Avenue 368 & Road 80, near Visalia

November 17, 2014- A fatal big rig collision took place in Tulare County, near Visalia.  The tractor-trailer accident led to the death of a Porterville woman, on Monday, at about 7:10 AM.

A Toyota 4Runner, driven by Olivia Thomason, was traveling eastbound on Avenue 368, north of Visalia.  She drove into the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80, because the traffic signal light was green.

As the Toyota was driving through the intersection, a Kenworth semi truck collided with the vehicle.  The big rig, which was driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was headed south on Road 80, when Hernandez ran the red light.  The semi was reported to have been traveling at 55 miles per hour, when it struck the Toyota.

The collision caused the 4Runner to crash into a Chevy Blazer that was across the roadway.  The Chevrolet was driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason died at the scene of the accident.  William Celaya was not hurt in the incident.  Hernandez sustained moderate injuries.  He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
