Big Rig Accident in Tulare County, near London, on Avenue 360 & Road 80

January 30, 2015- Two semi trucks collided in an accident that happened near London, northwest of Visalia.  The big rig collision was occurred at about 10:15 AM, in Tulare County.

The crash involved a tractor-trailer and a box truck, and took place at the intersection of Avenue 360 and Road 80.  The impact of the accident caused one of the semi's to roll over into a ditch, and the other vehicle was lying on its side.

One of the big rigs was carrying oranges and the collision scattered them across the roadway.

The condition of the drivers are not known at this time.

Young Boy Hit and Killed While Walking to School From a Collision on Tuolumne Street, in Parlier

An update to the collision that took the life of a 9-year-old boy, in Parlier.  The pedestrian accident occurred on Thursday, January 29, 2015, in Fresno County, at about 9:30 AM.

The child has been identified as Diego Estrada.

Diego Estrada, plus a 17 year old boy, and 16 year old girl, were walking down the sidewalk at Tuolumne Street and Madsen Avenue.  Estrada was on his way to school at Brletic Elementary.

An 18 year old driver of a white pickup truck tried to make a U-turn when the vehicle swerved up the sidewalk and hit the three juveniles.  The truck then smashed into a brick wall.

Estrada was pronounced dead at the scene.  The other two pedestrians sustained injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno for treatment.

Two Big Rigs Crash, Leading To Pileup on Highway 41, in Fresno County

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Wednesday, January 28, 2015, a chain-reaction vehicle accident happened on Highway 41.  The initial semi truck collision took place in Fresno County, at about 3 AM, and killed one driver.

A big rig carrying chickens from Foster Farms, had pulled onto the shoulder of the freeway, on northbound Highway 41.  The driver of the semi truck, from Livingston, had exited his cab, onto the side of the road, which was parked near Central Avenue.

A tanker truck, driven by Brandon Russell, 33 years old, from Visalia, smashed into the tractor-trailer, causing it to jackknife.  The Livingston man was pinned under the front tire of his poultry truck for approximately 40 minutes, before rescue crews could free him.

After the original collision, a pickup truck, driven by Mario Moreno, of Riverdale, hit the semi trucks.  Followed by another Foster Farms big rig, driven by Hoscar Rodriguez, of Fresno.

The Foster Farms driver sustained major injures and was rushed to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He was pronounced dead a short time later at the hospital.

The tanker truck driver, Brandon Russell, suffered serious injuries, and Moreno sustained minor injuries.  They were also taken to Community Regional Medical for treatment.

At the time of the reported accident, there was low visibility from fog.   The California Highway Patrol said that was a factor in the incident.

Multiple Car Accident in Clovis at East Shaw and Willow Avenues

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent report; On Monday, January 26, 2015, a 5-car pileup leaves several injured in Clovis.  The Fresno County multi-vehicle collision happened at about 6:40 AM.

Garrett Batrich, 24, of Fresno, was driving a black Hyundai Elantra southbound on Willow Avenue, north of Shaw Avenue.  The Police said Batrich was under the influence of prescription drugs as the time of the crash.  The incident involved five vehicles and stopped traffic until about 8 AM.

Batrich was arrested and taken to jail.

Many of those involved in the accident complained of pain, and a few went to the hospital.  No one suffered serious injuries, according to the Clovis police.

Tulare County Motorcycle Accident in Porterville

On Monday, January 26, 2015, a car and motorcycle collision took place in Porterville.  The Tulare County vehicle accident occurred at approximately 1 PM.

The automobile, and Harley Davidson crash happened at the intersection of D Street and Morton Avenue.

The Honda car's female driver was not hurt.  The male motorcyclist was injured and taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Fresno County Pedestrian Accident in Parlier, 9 Year Old Fatally Wounded

January 29, 2015- A young pedestrian was struck and killed on Thursday, in Parlier, southeast of Fresno.  The vehicle accident happened at about 9:30 AM, at Tuolumne Street and Madsen Avenue.

A 9 year old boy, and two other juveniles, were walking on the sidewalk.  The little boy was on his way to Brletic Elementary School.

At that time an 18 year old driver was attempting to make a U-turn, when he lost control of his pickup truck.  The white truck veered up onto the sidewalk and hit the three minors.  The pickup then crashed into a brick wall.

The boy died at the scene of the collision.  The other victims, a 17 year old boy, and a 16 year old girl suffered injuries.  They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The crash is under investigation.

Fresno County Chain-Reaction Semi Truck Crash, on Highway 41, Ends in Fatality

January 28, 2015- A two semi truck collision caused chain reaction of accidents, in Fresno County, on Wednesday.  The big rig crash killed one driver and left others injured on Highway 41, at about 3 AM.

A Foster Farms poultry truck, carrying chickens, had pulled off to the side of Highway 41, on the northbound freeway, north of Central Avenue.  The driver of the big rig, from Livingston, was out of the cab, when a tanker truck, driven by Brandon Russell, 33, of Visalia. crashed into it.

The driver of the poultry truck was pinned under one of the front tires of his vehicle, for about 40 minutes.  The impact caused the Foster Farms truck to jackknife.

A short time later a pickup truck, driven by Mario Moreno, of Riverdale, and then another Foster Farms truck, driven by Hoscar Rodriguez, of Fresno, both crashed into the first two tractor-trailers.

The driver of the first poultry truck suffered serious injuries.  He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  He later died at the hospital.

Russell sustained major injuries, but they are reported to not be life-threatening.  Moreno received minor injuries.  Both men were also taken to Community Regional for treatment.

The CHP reported that the foggy weather conditions were partly to blame for the collision.

The accident is under investigation.

Porterville Car Collision Leaves Two Girls Hurt, on Park Street and Date Avenue

Visalia Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the following collision report; On Friday, January 23, 2015, two girls were hit by a vehicle.  The car accident happened in Porterville, on Park Street and Date Avenue, at about 7:30 PM.

The two children, 11 and 14 years of age, were walking southbound in a crosswalk, across Park Street.  A 2014 Dodge Dart, that was driving at a higher rate of speed, was traveling east on Date Avenue.

Celestino Torres, of Poplar, the driver of the Dodge, tried to stop after seeing the pedestrians crossing the road.  The car did not stop in time, and struck the two girls.

The girls sustained serious injuries.  One was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  While the other was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  Their condition is unknown at this time.

The CHP are investigating this accident.

Three-Car Pileup Involving Semi Truck on Highway 198, in Tulare County

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a three-car pileup, which involved a big rig, took place in Tulare County.  The multiple vehicle collision happened on Highway 198, west of Visalia, at approximately 9:25 AM.  It is reported that there was low visibility from the fog, at the time of the accident.

A tractor-trailer driven by Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia attempted to turn onto Hwy 198, from Road 64.  The big rig pulled out into the intersection in front of a red Lincoln MKZ, driven by Claudia De Esquivel.

De Esquivel hit the brakes, but was unable to stop in time, and smashed into the back of the big rig.  A grey 2008 Acura automobile, driven by Cheriee Brown, was driving behind the Lincoln when the accident happened.  The Acura hit the back of the MKZ and pinned it underneath the semi.

De Esquivel and Brown sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was unharmed in the incident.

Fatal Big Rig and Van Collision in Fresno County, on American & Navelencia Avenues

January 9, 2015- A fatal semi truck accident took place in Fresno County, on Friday.  The van collision ended in four fatalities, near Orange Cove, northeast of Reedley.

A Chevy Astro minivan, that carried nine people, including the driver; Augustin Mendoza, of Porterville, was traveling on American Avenue.  As the Chevrolet reached the intersection of American and Navelencia avenues, Mendoza tried to pass a big rig illegally.

The tractor-trailer was turning left onto Navelencia Ave. when the van attempted to pass, and the Chevy smashed into the front of the semi.  The semi truck rolled over from the impact of the crash, and four people were ejected from the Astro van.

The van only had eight seats and the four men were not wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.  The passengers who were thrown have been identified as; Aguileo Vazquez Vargas, his son Fortino Vasquez Tepeco, Jorge Aguilera, and Pedro Rodriguez Vasquez.  They died at the scene of the accident.

The other farm workers suffered minor injuries and were taken for treatment, to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The big rig driver was uninjured.

Mendoza was arrested for vehicular manslaughter.

Fatal Head-on Vehicle Accident in Kern County, on Weedpatch Highway

On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, a head-on semi truck accident occurred in east Bakersfield, on Weedpatch Highway.  The Kern County vehicle collision happened at approximately 9 PM.

A red Ford Focus, driven by a male 30 year old, from Arvin, was traveling on Weedpatch Highway, near Edision Highway.  The Ford swerved over the median of the roadway, and drove into oncoming traffic.

The car hit a tractor-trailer head-on.

At the time of the crash the driver was reported to have not been wearing his safety harness.  He sustained serious injuries, and was rushed to Kern Medical Center.  He later died in the hospital.

The semi truck driver was uninjured in the incident.

Orosi Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Vehicle Collision, in Tulare County

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Wednesday, January 21, 2015, a pedestrian was killed in Orosi, by a hit-and-run driver.  The vehicle collision took place on Frances Drive, at approximately 6 PM.

Salud Baragan, who was 80 years old, was outside in the street, getting into the passenger side of her granddaughter's automobile.  The car was parked facing the opposite way, on Frances Drive, near Albert Avenue.

A blue Chevrolet Cavalier that was speeding on the roadway hit Barragan.  She was thrown from the vehicle and was hurt badly.

The Chevy drove away after the collision, and police are still on the lookout for the suspect.

Baragan suffered head trauma and other major injuries, and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  She was pronounced dead later at the hospital.

Two Young Pedestrians Hit in a Car Accident on Park Street, in Porterville

January 23, 2015- Two young girls were struck by a car, in Tulare County, on Friday.  The automobile accident occurred in Porterville while the children were crossing the street, at about 7:30 PM.

The girls, ages 14 and 11, were walking south in a crosswalk across the intersection of Park Street and Date Avenue.  A 2014 Dodge Dart, driven by Celestino Torres, 23 years of Poplar, was headed eastbound on Date Avenue.

Officers reported that he was driving at an unsafe speed as he approached the intersection.  Torres attempted to stop in time, but was unable to avoid hitting the two girls.

Both pedestrians suffered major injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, and Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

The California Highway Patrol has the collision under investigation.

Semi Truck Head-on Collision on Weedpatch Highway in Bakersfield, Ends in Fatality

January 20, 2015- A deadly head-on car collision happened in Kern County, on Tuesday.  The big rig accident took place in east Bakersfield, on Weedpatch Highway, at about 9 PM.

A 30 year old driver, from Arvin, was driving a red Ford Focus on Weedpatch Highway, near Edison Highway, when he lost control of the car.  The Focus drove over a raised median and into the opposite lane of traffic.

The automobile crashed head-on into an oncoming semi truck.

The Ford's driver suffered major injuries and was taken to Kern Medical Center, where he later died.  Officers reported that the driver was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The big rig driver was not hurt.

Multi-Vehicle Crash West of Visalia, on Highway 198

Visalia Collision Attorney John Rozier has the following report; On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a 3-vehicle pileup occurred on Highway 198 and Road 64, near Highway 99.  The multi-car accident happened in Tulare County, at about 9:25 AM, as a result of low visibility from the fog.

A semi truck, driven by Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia, turned from Road 64 onto the highway.  At the same time a red Lincoln MKZ, traveling in the slow lane on Hwy 198, was headed towards the big rig.

As the tractor-trailer turned into the intersection, the Lincoln, driven by Claudia De Esquivel, hit the back of the vehicle.  De Esquivel had attempted to stop before the crash, but was unable to.

Cheriee Brown was driving a gray 2008 Acura car when she smashed into the back of the Lincoln.  The impact pushed the MKZ under the semi truck.

Brown and De Esquivel suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken for treatment, to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Frisby wasn't hurt in the collision.

Officers reported that the foggy weather played a part in the incident.

Hit-and-Run Automobile Accident Kills Orosi Pedestrian, on Frances Drive

January 21, 2015- A hit-and-run collision leaves one woman dead, in Tulare County.  The car accident happened in Orosi, on Wednesday, at about 6 PM.

Salud Barragan/Baragan, 80 years old, was getting into the passenger's side of her granddaughter's car, which was parked on Frances Drive, south of Albert Avenue.  She was hit by a blue 1990's Chevy Cavalier.  The Chevrolet then fled the scene.

Baragan was thrown from the vehicle, and suffered severe head trauma and other serious injuries.  She was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.  She later died in the hospital from her wounds.

Police are still looking for the driver of the Chevy.

School Bus Collision with Cattle Truck on Highway 165, in Hilmar

January 22, 2015- A fatal school bus accident took place in Merced County, northwest of Fresno. The big rig collision happened on Thursday morning, in Hilmar.

The crash occurred when a school bus that only contained the driver, crashed with a semi truck that was carrying cattle.  It happened on Highway 165, in the downtown area of Hilmar.

The 33 year old driver of the truck, who was from Chowchilla, died at the scene of the accident.

The bus driver sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Fresno Tractor-Trailer Collision on Northbound Highway 99

On Saturday, January, 17, 2015, two big rigs collided on the freeway in southwest Fresno.  The semi truck collision took place on north Highway 99, at approximately 4:30 AM.

The tractor-trailer crash closed two lanes of the northbound highway, at the Jensen Avenue exit.  It took five hours to investigate and clear the road of debris.

It was reported that there was one injury in the accident.

Big Rig Collision on the I-5 Freeway in Kings County, near Kettleman City

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the subsequent report; On Friday, January 16, 2015, a big rig accident ends in fatality, near Kettleman City.  The SUV and semi collision happened on the Interstate 5 freeway, in Kings County, at about 2:40 PM.

A 73 year old driver, of Tacoma Wash., was traveling north in his tractor-trailer, on I-5, north of the California Aqueduct.  The big rig swerved across the highway, over the center divide, and collided head-on with a 2000 Ford Explorer SUV, driven by Joel Ramirez, 54, of Corcoran, in the southbound lanes.

The Sport Utility Vehicle and semi then burst into flames.

The Tacoma man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Ramirez sustained major injuries and was flown by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The accident is now under investigation.

Tulare County Multiple Vehicle Accident on Highway 198, near Visalia

January 14, 2015- A three-vehicle collision caused by fog, took place on Highway 198, on Wednesday.  The big rig accident happened west of Visalia, in Tulare County, at approximately 9:25 AM.

Steve L. Frisby, of Visalia, was driving his tractor-trailer on Road 64, when he attempt to turn onto the highway.  There was low visibility as a result of the fog, and Frisby did not see an automobile headed towards him, in the slow lane.

The semi truck pulled out into the intersection, and the red Lincoln MKZ, driven by Claudia De Esquivel, crashed into it.  De Esquivel tried to stop in time, but was unable to avoid the collision.  The Lincoln hit the back of the big rig.

A grey 2008 Acura, driven by Cheriee Brown, was following behind the Lincoln when the initial crash happened.  The Acura collided into the back of the first auto and pinned it under the semi truck.

Both women sustained moderate injuries and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was not injured in the incident.

Big Rig Caught Fire in Collision on Highway 99, in Kingsburg

On Thursday, January 15, 2015, a big rig accident took place in Fresno County, on southbound Highway 99.  The semi truck collision occurred in Kingsburg, at about 12 AM, and was a result of foggy weather conditions.

The tractor-trailer crashed on the freeway and hit a concrete barrier, then overturned.  The semi then burst into flames, and the driver was thrown from the vehicle, and rolled down the embankment, near the Sierra Street exit.

Highway 99 Car Accident Caused by Wrong Way Driver in Atwater

January 18, 2015- A wrong-way driver caused a car accident on Highway 99, in Atwater.  The Merced County vehicle collision happened on Sunday, at about 9 AM.

The California Highway Patrol received reports about an erratic driver in a white Dodge Ram truck, traveling on the southbound freeway.  Officers attempted to stop the pickup, but the driver did not yield and continued to drive down Highway 99.

The truck then veered across the median of the roadway and drove onto the northbound lanes into oncoming traffic.  The Dodge clipped the right side of a Chevy Malibu that was carrying three people.

The driver of the Malibu saw the pickup coming towards it, and tried to avoid a head-on collision.  The Ram truck then smashed into the side guardrail and drove off the side of the freeway, down the embankment, and overturned.  It finally came to rest on Atwater Boulevard, near Maple Street, where the vehicle then caught fire.

The pickup truck driver suffered injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The Chevy Malibu driver sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

Kings County Fatal Semi Truck Accident on Interstate 5, at Kettleman City

On Friday, January 16, 2015, a semi truck crash killed one, on Interstate 5, in Kings County, at about 2:40 PM.  The head-on collision occurred on the freeway, where it intersects with Highway 41, near Kettleman City, north of the California Aqueduct.

The CHP have reported that a 73 year old driver from Tacoma Washington, was driving a Freightliner in the northbound lanes of I-5.  The big rig veered to the left across the center divide and crashed head-on into a 2000 Ford Explorer.

The accident then caused a large fire to both vehicles.

Two Big Rigs Collided, in Accident on Highway 99, in Fresno

January 17, 2015- A semi truck accident happened on northbound Highway 99, in Fresno.  The big rig collision occurred on Saturday, at about 4:30 AM.

The crash involved two tractor-trailers in the southwest part of Fresno, on the freeway.  The incident closed two lanes of the roadway, at Highway 99 and Jensen Avenue.  Traffic was backed up for five hours, while the wreckage was cleared.

One person was injured in the incident.

Fresno County Van Accident Ends Fatally on American Avenue, near Orange Cove

San Joaquin Valley Automobile Accident Lawyer John Rozier has the following report; On Friday, January 9, 2015, four people were killed in a big rig accident.  A van and semi truck were involved in the collision, that occurred near Orange Cove, in Fresno County.

A Chevrolet Astro van which was carrying nine farm workers, from Porterville, was headed down American Avenue.  The driver, Augustin Mendoza, 39, attempted to pass a tractor-trailer that was about to turn left, at the intersection of Navelencia Avenue.

The Chevy crashed into the front of the big rig, and cause the rig to overturn.  Four victims in the Astro van, which could legally only hold eight people, were ejected from the vehicle,  They were Aguileo Vazquez Vargas, his son Fortino Vasquez Tepeco, Jorge Aguilera, and Pedro Rodriguez Vasquez.

The four men were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  The other workers in the van sustained minor injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The semi truck driver was not harmed in the incident.

Mendoza has since been arrested for four counts of vehicular manslaughter.

Three Vehicle Pileup in Tulare County on Highway 198, is Fog-Related

On Wednesday, January 14, 2015, a semi truck collision took place on Highway 198, in Tulare County.  The fog-related car accident happened west of Visalia, at approximately 9:25 AM.

Steve Frisby, of Visalia, was driving his big rig on Road 64,  He attempted to turn onto Highway 198 and pulled out into the intersection, right in the path of a red Lincoln MKZ.

Claudia De Esquivel, 34 years old, was driving the Lincoln, when the tractor-trailer turned in front of her.  She tried to stop in time, but the automobile hit the rear of the rig.

A 2008 gray Acura, driven by Cheriee Brown, then collided into the back of the Lincoln.  The impact pushed the red car under the backside of the semi truck.

De Esquivel and Brown sustained moderate injuries, and were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Frisby was uninjured in the incident.

Officials have reported that the foggy weather was a major cause of the accident.

Multi-Car Crash on Highway 180, Near Reedley in Fresno County

Fresno, Visalia, Bakersfield Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following accident report; On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, a multiple vehicle collision took place on Highway 180.  The three-car crash occurred northeast of Reedley, in Fresno County, at about 8:13 AM.

A Toyota car, driven by a woman, was headed on Highway 180, near Centerville, when the automobile lost control.  The Toyota swerved over the center divide and ran head-on into a pickup truck towing a travel trailer, near Alta Avenue.  The collision caused the truck and camper to rollover.

Fatal Drunk Driving Car Collision on Highway 43, in Tulare County

Central California Car Collision Attorney John L. Rozier has the following report; On Sunday December 28, 2014, a head-on vehicle accident ends in fatality, in Tulare County.  The DUI car collision happened near Delano on Highway 43, at approximately 2:25 AM.

A 22 year old female driver, Otilia Pineda, of Allensworth, was traveling in a 2003 GMC truck.  She was driving northbound on Highway 43, when the pickup drove into the oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes, south of Avenue 16.

A 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale sedan, driven by a man in his 50's, was head south on the highway at the time the GMC came towards it.  The car tried to avoid the pickup truck by swerving onto the right shoulder of the road.  The vehicles collided head-on.

The Oldsmobile driver died at the scene of the accident.

Pineda, who had one prior for driving while intoxicated, and was on probation, fled the crash.  She was found by police at her house and was arrested.

Automobile Collision with Big Rig on Highway 198 Near Highway 99, West of Visalia

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On January 14, 2015, two cars and a semi truck collided, because of low visibility, just west of Visalia.  The three-vehicle pileup happened at Highway 198 and Road 64, on Wednesday, at about 9:25 AM.

A semi truck, driven by Steve Frisby, of Visalia, was turning from Road 64, onto Highway 198.  The weather was foggy, and Frisby failed to see a red Lincoln MKZ in the slow lane and pulled out into the intersection, right in front of it.

The Lincoln, which was driven by Claudia De Esquivel, 34, of Visalia, attempted to stop to avoid the big rig, but the car crashed into the rear of the truck.

Cheriee Brown was driving a grey 2008 Acura directly behind the Lincoln and also collided with the other two vehicles.  The Acura struck the back of the MKZ and pinned it under the tractor-trailer.

Brown and De Esquivel suffered moderate injuries.  They were taken by ambulance to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

Frisby was not hurt in the crash.

The CHP said that the fog played a major factor in the collision.

Semi Truck Accident Ends in Four Fatalities near Orange Cove on American Avenue

On Friday, January 9, 2015, four farm workers from Porterville were killed in a vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and a van.  The semi truck accident happened in Fresno County, near Reedley and Orange Cove.

A Chevy Astro van, driven by Augustin Mendoza, 39 years old, was traveling on American Avenue, with more passengers than there were seats and safety restraints.  The driver tried to pass a big rig illegally at the intersection of Navelencia Avenue.  The big rig had been turning left, when the Chevrolet van hit the front of it.

The impact from the crash made the semi truck overturn.  Four passengers in the Astro van, who were not seat belted in, were thrown from the vehicle.  They have been identified as; Pedro Rodriguez Vasquez, Aguileo Vazquez Vargas, and his son Fortino Vasquez Tepeco, and Jorge Aguilera, who were all from Tulare County.

The four men died at the scene of the incident.

The rest of the people in the van sustained minor injuries.  They were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno, for treatment.  The big rig driver suffered no injuries.

Mendoza has since been arrested and charged with four counts of vehicular manslaughter.

Pileup Crash With Semi Truck on Highway 198, in Tulare County

January 14, 2015- A three-vehicle collision which involved a big rig occurred on Highway 198, at Road 64.  The semi truck accident happened on Wednesday, in Tulare County, near Highway 99, at about 9:25 AM.

The crash took place on the westbound freeway, when two vehicles collided into the tractor-trailer.  The cars were trapped under the rear of the semi.

Automobile Collision Involving Multiple Vehicles near Centerville, on Highway 180

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, a multi-car accident leaves two people hurt, near Centerville.  The vehicle collision happened in Fresno County, at approximately 8:15 AM, on Highway 180.

Fog-Related Vehicle Collision in Downtown Fresno, on Tulare and R Streets

Fatal Big Rig and Van Accident on American Avenue, in Fresno County

An update has been reported on the van collision that killed four people on Friday, January 9, 2015, in Fresno County.  The occupants of the Chevy Astro van were all from Porterville in Tulare County.  The big rig accident occurred at about 6 PM, near Orange Cove and Reedley.

Augustin Mendoza, 39, was driving the Chevrolet van on American Avenue, with eight passengers.  As he approached the intersection of American and Navelencia avenues, Mendoza tried to pass a semi truck.  The semi was turning left when the mini van attempted to pass.

The van ran into the front of the big rig, which caused the rig to roll over.  Aguileo Vazquez Vargas and his son Fortino Vasquez Tepeco, Pedro Rodriguez Vasquez and Jorge Aguilera were all ejected from the vehicle.  It is reported that they had not been wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

The 4 victims died at the scene.  The other occupants of the Astro van suffered minor injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.

Four People Killed in a Van and Semi Truck Collision, in Reedley

January 9, 2015- A semi truck accident leads to four fatalities in Fresno County.  The van collision happened in Reedley, on Friday, at approximately 6 PM.

Nine farm workers were traveling in an eight passenger Chevy Astro van on American Avenue, near Navelencia Avenue.  It is reported that the minivan attempted to pass a semi truck illegally at the intersection.  The big rig attempted to turn left at the time the van tried to pass.

The Chevrolet van hit the front of the tractor-trailer and overturned.  Four people who were said to have not been wearing seatbelts, were thrown from the vehicle.

The four victims were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  They have been identified as 56-year-old Aguileo Vazquez Vargas and his son 29-year-old Fortino Vasquez Tepeco, 55-year-old Jorge Aguilera, and 21-year-old Pedro Rodriguez Vasquez.

The driver of the Astro van; Augustin Mendoza, 39 years-old, and the four remaining passengers, sustained minor injuries.  They were all taken by ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.  The semi truck driver was not hurt.

Mendoza could face four charges of vehicular manslaughter for the incident.

Highway 41 Vehicle Collision Caused By Intoxicated Driver in Madera County

On Sunday, January 4, 2015, an intoxicated driver was responsible for a head-on car collision in Madera County.  The vehicle accident took place on northbound Highway 41, at about 8 PM.

A driver of a blue Dodge pickup truck was driving southbound on Highway 41, when he swerved onto the north side of the highway, near Avenue 12.

The pickup truck drove head-on into a white sedan, driven by a woman from Coarsegold.  The car was sent into a guardrail after the vehicles collided.  The Dodge truck overturned.

The drivers in both vehicles were trapped inside until emergency officials were able to rescue them.  The victims suffered minor injuries and were taken to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Reports say that the driver, whose truck was registered in Nevada, was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

Minivan Accident on Eastbound Highway 178 in Bakersfield

January 8, 2015- A big rig collision took place in Kern County, early Thursday morning.  The semi truck accident occurred on Highway 58, near Tehachapi, at about 4 AM.

The California Highway Patrol reported that the tractor-trailer was traveling on westbound Highway 58 when the crash happened.  The semi rolled over and blocked some of the lanes, near the Woodford off-ramp, in the Keene vicinity.

Three Injured in Rollover Vehicle Collision on Highway 41, in Fresno County

On Tuesday, January 6, 2015, a rollover car collision injures three people, in Fresno county.  The vehicle accident occurred on Highway 41, at about 4 AM.

The crash happened near Manning Avenue, on Highway 41, when the silver automobile hit a ditch as it was traveling southbound.  The car overturned onto the side of the highway.

Two Big Rigs Collided in Accident on Interstate 5, in Kern County

January 2, 2015- A semi truck crash on the Grapevine causes traffic delays, in Kern County, on Friday.  The big rig collision took place on Interstate 5, near Lebec Road, at about 5 PM.

The California Highway Patrol reported that two tractor-trailers collided at the base of the Grapevine, on southbound I-5.  One of the semi trucks caught fire from the accident.  The flames spread to a hillside at the shoulder of the freeway.

Hit and Run Vehicle Accident near Delano on Highway 43, Ends in Fatality

On Sunday, December 28, 2014, a hit and run collision ends fatally in Tulare County.  The head-on car accident caused by a drunk driver, occurred near Delano, at about 2:25 AM.

Otilia Pineda, 22 years old, of Allensworth, was driving a 2003 GMC truck, north on Highway 43, northwest of Delano.  The pickup veered into the southbound lane of the highway, into oncoming traffic.

Pineda fled the scene of the accident, and was later found at her house.  She was arrested for driving while intoxicated and other charges.  She had one prior DUI and was on probation when the collision happened.
