CHP have reported that the driver of the big rig was merging from southbound Hwy 99, to eastbound Hwy 58. The officer said the tractor-trailer was driving too fast for the rainy road conditions, and swerved along both sides of the freeway, before jack-knifing and catching on fire.
The semi was dangling off the overpass above Highway 99. The freeway was closed, because of plummeting debris.
It was said that 2-3 other cars were involved in the collision, but no one was hurt.
Caltrans will come in to inspect the overpass to make sure it is safe to drive on before vehicles can use that part of the highway again.
Issues still remaining to be investigated include
determining the speed of the big rig, whether road conditions may have
contributed to this accident, and whether the facts of this accident as
reported are accurate. If you would like these
issues investigated further then please call Attorney John Rozier at 559-713-0159. www.nelsonrozier.com
