Kenworth Semi Truck Collision on Avenue 368 & Road 80, near Visalia

November 17, 2014- A fatal big rig collision took place in Tulare County, near Visalia.  The tractor-trailer accident led to the death of a Porterville woman, on Monday, at about 7:10 AM.

A Toyota 4Runner, driven by Olivia Thomason, was traveling eastbound on Avenue 368, north of Visalia.  She drove into the intersection of Ave 368 and Road 80, because the traffic signal light was green.

As the Toyota was driving through the intersection, a Kenworth semi truck collided with the vehicle.  The big rig, which was driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was headed south on Road 80, when Hernandez ran the red light.  The semi was reported to have been traveling at 55 miles per hour, when it struck the Toyota.

The collision caused the 4Runner to crash into a Chevy Blazer that was across the roadway.  The Chevrolet was driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.

Thomason died at the scene of the accident.  William Celaya was not hurt in the incident.  Hernandez sustained moderate injuries.  He was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
