Drunk Driving Auto Accident on Highway 99, Kills One, in Tulare County

An update to the drunk driving car accident that took place on Highway 99, in Tulare County.  The victim in the automobile collision that occurred near Visalia, on Sunday, May 24, 2015, has been identified.

Jennie/Janie Luna was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo, with passenger Angelique Rivas, 37, of Exeter.  The Chevy was headed south on the Highway 99 freeway, at an unknown rate of speed, at about 1 in the morning.

The car drifted off the highway, and up a dirt & grass embankment.  It then rolled over and crashed into the concrete wall of the over-crossing of Avenue 280.

Rivas suffered from blunt force trauma and died at the scene of the crash.  Luna suffered major injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

The California Highway Patrol reported that Luna was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.  Upon being discharged from the hospital, Luna will be booked into jail.

While our condolences go out to the friends and family of the victim, we recognize that no monetary sum can ease the pain and loss felt after a tragedy such as this. However, just monetary compensation can help ease the burden of medical bills, final expenses, and help support any dependents left behind by the deceased.
