January 24 accident resulting in a wrongful death in Modesto near Hatch Road and Carpenter Road

On January 24 a woman was killed in a wrongful death accident when the car she was riding in flew off the road and hit a tree near Hatch Road and Carpenter Road in Modesto. Reportedly Abraham Perez was driving the BMW at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle at a curve in the road. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Perez was arrested on suspicion for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter. After being arrested, Perez was taken to Doctors Medical Center to treat his injuries.
