August 13 wrongful death accident in I-5 in Merced County

On August 13 Aiden Santos was killed in a tragic accident on I-5 in Merced County. Reportedly Aris Santos was driving the Toyota Sienna carrying three adults and four children in the slow lane near Santa Nella.  Santos reported that he looked up and saw a U-Haul just ahead of his vehicle. He slammed on the brakes and swerved then lost control of the van. This caused the van to go down an embankment and then roll several times. Aiden and Arissa Santos were both ejected from the vehicle.  Aiden was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Arissa was taken via air to Memorial Medical Center with major injuries. The other passengers in the vehicles were taken via ambulance to a hospital in Los Banos with minor injuries.
