October 6, 2011- a suspected drunk driver caused an accident that ended fatally on Thursday afternoon in Bakersfield.
At about 3:30 PM a driver of a silver pickup truck drove through a red light at the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and Virginia Avenue.
The suspected drunk driver’s truck smashed into another pickup, driven by Robert Blaine Grant of Bakersfield. The collision pushed Grant’s truck into another vehicle and a big rig.
Witnesses stepped in to apprehend the intoxicated driver before he could run away.
Robert Grant died from serious injuries, as a result of the accident, at the hospital on Friday.
