November 27, 2011- A drunk driver hit a motorcyclist early Sunday morning and then fled the scene, in Bakersfield.
Bakersfield police officers had a DUI checkpoint on Union Avenue, near the crash that happened on Golden State Highway. After the drunk driver hit the motorcycle with his pickup truck, the driver fled as officers raced to the scene of the crash.
After a short pursuit officers arrested the driver and charged him with DUI, felony hit-and-run, and failing to yield to police.
The motorcycle victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.
