Multi Vehicle Accident Causes Highway 99 to Close in Tulare County

June 20, 2014- A multi-vehicle big rig collision caused northbound Highway 99 to close, for about 12 hours, on Friday.  The crash occurred south of Tulare, from Friday at 4:30 PM to Saturday at 5 AM.

The accident took place on northbound Highway 99, when a semi truck was merging onto the freeway from Bardsley Avenue.  The big rig lost its load as it entered and then flipped over.  Another semi truck and then a passenger car collided with the big rig's overturned trailer.

The semi's trailer and the spilled load, ended up blocking all lanes of northbound Hwy 99.

Emergency crews took 12 hours before the wreckage was cleared.  No injuries were reported.
