Four Vehicle Collision on Highway 99 in Bakersfield

November 4, 2011- A crash involving four vehicles occurred on Highway 99 in Bakersfield, Friday, at 9:10 AM.

A Toyota pickup truck was merging onto southbound Hwy 99, near Rosedale Highway, when the driver was clipped by a PT Cruiser. The Toyota then lost control and crashed into a semi truck.

The white pickup then ended up swerving and crashed into the center divider of the freeway, where a fourth vehicle crashed into it.

Officers reported that five people in the truck were trapped inside until emergency crews were able to pull them out.

Those involved in the accident suffered minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to Kern Medical Center.

The CHP said that the weather, which had been rainy, was a major factor in the crash.
