October 31, 2011- An accident eight miles west of Fresno kills a motorcyclist, Monday morning. The accident happened at about 6:40 AM.
Lawrence Sanchez of Kerman was riding his Harley Davidson west on Highway 180. He was following a Nissan Frontier, driven by Latoya Ashley Green of Fresno, who, officers report, was driving under the influence.
Green began to turn left toward southbound Monroe Avenue, then made a sharp turn toward northbound Monroe. At the same time, Sanchez attempted to pass the Nissan on the right. The motorcycle slammed into the right side of the Nissan, and Sanchez was thrown from his bike.
He died at the scene of the crash.
The Highway Patrol arrested Green for DUI, vehicular manslaughter and driving with a suspended license.
