January 9, 2012- An answered cell phone leads to a crash on Highway 41, in Madera County, Monday afternoon.
Neal Patrick Oliver, of Ahwahnee, was driving a Toyota Camry on Highway 41, south of Road 426. While he was driving, Oliver reached down to pick up his ringing cell phone and drifted to the right shoulder of the highway. The Camry smashed into a parked big rig on the side of the road.
Oliver received minor injuries.
A passenger in the Toyota, Joseph Henry Criswell, of Oakhurst, suffered major injuries. He was medi-flighted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
