January 23, 2015- Two young girls were struck by a car, in Tulare County, on Friday.  The automobile accident occurred in Porterville while the children were crossing the street, at about 7:30 PM.

The girls, ages 14 and 11, were walking south in a crosswalk across the intersection of Park Street and Date Avenue.  A 2014 Dodge Dart, driven by Celestino Torres, 23 years of Poplar, was headed eastbound on Date Avenue.
