SUV Accident Injures Five in Fresno on Chestnut Avenue & Kings Canyon Road

April 27, 2014- Five people were seriously injured in a car accident, in southeast Fresno.  The vehicle collision took place on Sunday, at about 3:30 AM.

The driver of a 2001 Nissan Maxima, German Henderson, 29 years old, was speeding down the street, when he ran straight through a red light.  The Nissan smashed into a 2013 GMC Sport Utility Vehicle, at the intersection of Chestnut Avenue, and Kings Canyon Road.

Henderson sustained a broken leg, and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.  Four people in the SUV also suffered major injuries, and were transported to the hospital for medical care.

Police reported that Henderson was a known gang member.  He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, and failure to stop for a traffic signal, among other things.
