Truck Driver Trapped Overnight in Crash on Bena Road Bakersfield

April 20, 2014- A semi truck crash occurred in a remote area of east Bakersfield, Sunday night.  Leaving the driver trapped overnight.  He was rescued Monday morning.

The CHP reported that the truck was pulling farm equipment on Bena Road in Kern County.  The big rig hit a curb near Neumarkel Road, and rolled down an embankment on the side of the road.  The collision caused a small fire.

A helicopter airlifted the man to a nearby hospital.  The condition of the driver is not known at this time.
