U.S. Mail Truck Crash on Delta Street, Kills Toddler, in Porterville

April 3, 2015- A vehicle accident ends in a toddler boy's death in Tulare County, on Friday.  The collision involved an United States postal delivery truck that was out delivering the mail, in Porterville, at about 1:30 PM.

The child has been identified as T.J. Trevino, 18-months-old.  The mail truck had stopped in front of 481 N. Delta Street to deliver mail.  As the vehicle pulled away it struck the little boy, who was reported to have darted out of the front yard where he had been playing with his family.

Neighbors in the area said that after the crash, T.J. was not breathing.  Emergency crews soon arrived and took T.J., who had suffered serious injuries, to Sierra View Medical Center, right in Porterville.

The toddler was pronounced dead a short time later in the hospital.
