December 15 Highway 99 5-car accident in Merced injures 2

On December 15 five cars were involved in a collision on Highway 99 near Winton Parkway in Merced. The accident happened when the driver of a Chevy pickup failed to see the traffic ahead of him slowing down. He tried to swerve to avoid an accident but hit a Ford Ranger. He then swerved into the median, lost control of the vehicle, and hit a Toyota Tundra. The Chevy then hit a Honda Pilot. The Pilot was then pushed into the slow lane and hit a big rig. Two people were treated for injuries. This is a good example of how one minor incident can quickly escalate. It was fortunate that no major injuries resulted from this accident. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/
