On December 4 James Kelly was killed while crossing Lake Isabella Boulevard in an electric wheel chair. He was hit by a Toyota Tacoma driven by Robert John Lee. According to reports, Kelly was crossing west to east when he entered the street directly into Lee's path. Lee tried to avoid Kelly by slamming on his brakes and swerving, but was unable to avoid hitting him. Kelly was taken to Kern Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead. This accident was truly a tragedy. It is unclear if Kelly was in the cross walk or why he entered the road way. It is also unknown if Kelly left any family behind.
