March 2 wrongful death accident in Madera County kills three children

On March 2 three children were killed in a wrongful death accident on Avenue 7 1/2 west of Road 9 in Madera County. Reportedly the children's father, Aref Kareem Mohamed,  was the driver of the vehicle involved in a head-on collision. The children, Ahmaed-6, Gahassan-6, and Fatima-3, were passengers in the Chrysler van traveling westbound on Avenue 7 1/2 when the van went off the road, over corrected, and hit an eastbound Toyota Corolla. The father was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the accident. The children were not wearing seat belts and were all killed in the accident. The occupants of the Corolla all suffered injuries ranging from minor to major. Aref Kareem Mohamed is being charged with driving under the influence, child endangerment, and DUI with gross negligence. The Mohamed family are residents of Firebaugh. www.nelsonrozier.com
