Eight Vehicle Pile Up on Highway 41 and I-5

September 1, 2011- An eight car pile up occurred just before 2 PM Thursday, on Highway 41 and Interstate 5, just outside Kettleman City an hour from Visalia. The pile up caused Highway 41 to shut down in both directions for several hours.

The CHP have reported that the accident involved a semi truck and seven other vehicles. Traffic was at a standstill before the crash happened, due to construction. The big rig slammed on his brakes, which then caused a chain reaction.

Witnesses said the semi truck driver swerved to the left, clipped one car, in a series of cars, and then ended up piling up all the cars, and went into the opposite lane. At that point the big rig lost control, swerved back, and hit another truck. That truck got propelled into an SUV.

Four people were reported as injured, and were taken to the hospital. With one of them being airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.

Our expert engineers are here to investigate this accident more. Please give us a call, I am a personal injury lawyer serving the central valley.  With an accident this size the CHP report may not be ready for weeks--please let us get started to measure skids, download air bag data and prove liability.  If you were injured in this accident please call tomorrow morning.  I practice in Visalia which is within miles of the scene of this accident.  We are currently suing a trucking company over a big rig fog accident at I-5 and Highway 119 and another suit involves Highway 41 at Floral.   Attorney John Rozier 559-713-0159.
