Former Supervisor Candidate in Critical Condition from Accident

August 28, 2011- Joe Alberta, of Coarsegold, a former candidate for the Madera County Board of Supervisors, was in critical condition Sunday after being thrown from his vehicle, during an early morning crash. The accident occurred at about 2:30 AM.

Alberta was driving a 2004 Honda west on Road 417, east of Big Sandy Drive near Coarsegold, which is northeast of Fresno. He turned his car and crossed the solid double-yellow line, when an eastbound 2009 Ford Mustang collided with the right side of the Honda. Alberta was ejected through the right front window.

The driver of the Mustang, Brandon Jeroue, of Fresno, and a passenger, Michele Jackson, of Coarsegold, were taken to Saint Agnes Medical Center with moderate injuries.

Alberta was medi-flighted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno with a head injury. It is reported that he is in critical but stable condition with a head injury.
