November 20 widening of Highway 198 in Kings and Tulare Counties officially begins

On November 20 a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the widening of Highway 198 in Tulare and Kings Counties. This stretch of road is a key agricultural goods movement corridor. It is also one of the most dangerous roads in the state. The current 2-lane highway will be expanded into a four-lane expressway between Hanford and Highway 99 near Visalia. The project is scheduled to be complete in the spring of 2012. Highway 198 has been a dangerous road for a long time. It is a two-lane highway that sees many motorists as they are headed to the central coast or The Palace Casino in Lemoore as well as trucks transporting agricultural goods.

On January 15, 2009 Robert Shane Travioli was killed in a 4-car crash on Highway 198 involving a semi-truck and two other vehicles. Mr. Travioli's life is just one of many that have been taken tragically on this dangerous stretch of road. The lawfirm of Nelson and Rozier is located just off of Highway 198 in Visalia. Our lawyers have many years local experience with accidents on this stretch of road. If you have been involved in an accident on Highway 198 please contact us at http://www.nelsonrozier.com/.
