November 27 accident in Visalia at Demaree Street and Mineral King Avenue kills one

On November 27 a pickup truck crashed into a traffic pole at Demaree Street and Mineral King Avenue, killing the driver. Reportedly, the pickup failed to yield during a traffic stop. The driver was driving the wrong way in the downtown area near Mineral King and Locust Street when officers tried to stop him. The pickup continued down Mineral King, through the Demaree overpass signal, crashing into the signal light on the southwest corner of the intersection. The vehicle was immediately engulfed in flames and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
