March 15, 2014- A car crash that involved a Fresno patrol car winding up in a canal, happened just after 10 PM, on Saturday.

The car accident occurred in Fresno, California, at the intersection of Blackstone Avenue, and Shields Avenue.

Officers reported that a 79 year old man drove through a red light and broadsided a K9 unit's police car.  The patrol car rolled over until it landed into a nearby canal.  The police officer was able to get out of his vehicle and rescue his dog.
