Man Hit by Two Vehicles, South of Bakersfield on Interstate 5

March 4 2014- A man reportedly running from the police, was hit by two different vehicles on Interstate 5, near Lebec, south of Bakersfield, on Tuesday.

CHP stopped to help a broken down pickup truck on northbound I-5, where the driver, 20 year old Ricardo Huerta of Paramount, and a passenger of the pickup pushed it to the center divider.

While the Highway Patrol officer was talking to Huerta, he took off running.  The driver jumped the divider wall onto southbound I-5, where he was then hit by a sedan car and also a truck.

Officers reported that both vehicles did not stop, after the collision.

Huerta was taken to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield, to be treated for serious injuries resulting from the accident.
