Strathmore Vehicle Accident Leaves Serious Injuries on Road 256

March 17, 2014- A car collision in Tulare County happened on Monday, when one vehicle ran a stop sign in Strathmore.  The accident occurred at about 6:20 PM.

Salvador Maciel, was driving a 2004 GMC Sierra truck, south on Road 256, also known as Lynch Drive.  Maciel, 35 years old, drove through the intersection of Road 256, and Avenue 196, without stopping at the stop sign.  The driver broadsided a 1999 Oldsmobile Silhouette, driven by Maria Salas, 58 years old.

The CHP reported that the front of the Oldsmobile collided into the right side of the Sierra truck.  There is no stop sign on Avenue 196, so the minivan had the right of way.

Maria Salas and two passengers; Francisca Ambriz Vasquez, and Angel Salas, suffered minor to major injuries.  Salvador Maciel sustained minor injuries.  Maria Salas has been treated and released from Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

The crash remains under investigation.
