Metal Hits Windshield of Car on Highway 99

February 9, 2012- A woman survived a piece of metal blasting through her windshield on Highway 99. The accident happened on Thursday.

McFarland woman was heading southbound on Highway 99, between Bakersfield and McFarland. All of a sudden, a chunk of metal struck the upper portion of her driver's side windshield.

The metal was part of a leaf spring from a big rig, according to the California Highway Patrol.


The female driver suffered a minor head injury and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
