Wheelchair Bound Woman Hit on Blackstone Ave in Fresno

February 21, 2012- A wheelchair bound woman was hit in central Fresno, on Tuesday night. The accident happened at about 7:45 PM.

A 46-year-old homeless woman was taken to the hospital after she was hit by two vehicles while crossing the street in a wheelchair on Blackstone Avenue, near Shields Avenue.

The driver of the first vehicle stopped after the collision and was cooperative with the police. The driver of the second vehicle drove away; officers are searching for that driver.

The only description witnesses were able to provide about the second car was that it was a white four-door vehicle.

The woman sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Community Regional Medical Center.

It is reported that the woman was not crossing the road in a marked crosswalk.
