Motorcycle Accident Ends with Severe Injuries in Fresno on Cedar Ave

April 30, 2014- A motorcyclist was seriously hurt in a head-on vehicle collision in Fresno.  The accident happened near Fresno State, on Wednesday, at about 3:30 PM.

The 49 year old motorcycle rider was traveling southbound on Cedar Avenue, on his 2010 Harley Davidson.  The traffic light at Bulldog Lane turned green, and the rider sped up into the intersection.  He was hit head-on by a 2008 Dodge Avenger.

The Dodge was driven by a 22 year old man, who had been trying to make a U-turn at the light.  It is reported that the driver of the Dodge did not see the Harley coming as he attempted to turn.

The crash pushed the motorcycle to the curb, and the rider was thrown forcefully off the bike.  He was catapulted across the sidewalk, and into a metal bus shelter.

The biker suffered major injuries, including a severed left foot, a collapsed lung, broken arm, and broken ribs.  He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center, where he is listed as being in critical, but stable condition.
