Big Rig Accident Kills One, on 14th Avenue & Fargo Avenue, in Kings County

August 27, 2015- A young man died in a car collision with a semi truck, on Thursday, near Hanford.  The Kings County big rig accident happened on 14th Avenue, at about 4:30 PM.

Mario Duran, of Corcoran, was driving a 1994 Peterbilt silage truck, traveling north on 14th Avenue.  At the same time a Honda Civic, driven by a Hanford man, 22, was southbound on 14th Ave.

The tractor-trailer attempted to turn left onto Fargo Avenue, and failed to yield to the Honda, which had the right-of-way.  The automobile crashed into the front corner of the big rig.

The car's driver sustained severe injuries.  He was taken by helicopter to Community Regional Medical Center, for treatment.  He died from his trauma in the hospital.

Duran was not injured.
