Tractor-Trailer Collides with Tanker Truck on Highway 99, in Bakersfield

August 17, 2015- Two big rigs collided on Highway 99 in Bakersfield.  The Kern County tanker truck collision took place on the freeway, at Highway 65.

A semi truck carrying steel pipes was southbound on Highway 99, following another tractor-trailer that was hauling milk.  For an unknown reason the big rig hit the back of the milk truck, which caused milk and pipes to crash onto the freeway.

The middle and slow lanes on Hwy 99 were closed until everything could be cleaned up.

The driver of the rig hauling the steel pipes suffered moderate injuries, and was taken to Kern Medical Center for treatment.

Please call if you would like us to investigate this accident. The event data recorders with the airbag modules may have recorded the vehicle speeds, and whether there was a malfunction to the vehicle.
