Semi Truck Collision, near Tulare, Kills Two on Highway 65

July 27, 2015- An SUV collision took place in Tulare County, on Monday.  The big rig accident occurred southeast of Tulare, at approximately 5:30 PM.

A 2000 Dodge Durango, driven by an 28 year old Porterville man, was traveling southbound on Highway 65, near State Route 137.  The driver attempted to make a U-turn, and while the Sport Utility Vehicle tried to turn right, a semi truck crashed into it.

The 2010 Kenworth tractor-trailer had also been going south on the highway.  The driver was not able to stop the big rig in time before hitting the Dodge.

The SUV's driver, and a 70 year old passenger suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.  A third person in the vehicle, 23, sustained major injuries and was rushed to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia.

The semi truck driver was not injured in the crash.
