November 5 bicycle accident in Merced

On November 5 a bicyclist was injured after being hit by a car at 16th Street and M Street on Friday morning just after midnight. Reportedly the victim was riding east on 16th Street when the vehicle hit him while turning right onto M Street from 16th Street. The driver then fled the scene of the accident. The bicyclist was taken to Mercy Medical Center to be treated for a possible broken arm.

May 8 bicycle accident at 16th Street and Canal Street in Merced

On May 8 a man was injured when he was hit by a car while riding his bike near the intersection of 16th Street and Canal Street in Merced. Reportedly the man was riding southbound across 16th Street when he was hit by a Corolla traveling eastbound on 16th. The man was air lifted to a hospital in Modesto where he was treated for internal bleeding and a broken leg. The driver of the car did not suffer any injuries. www.nelsonrozier.com

April 24 Highway 99 dui accident in Merced

On April 24 Andres Lopez was seriously injured in a suspected dui accident on Highway 99 in Merced. Lopez was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Virgilio Perez Cruz when the accident happened. Reportedly Cruz was driving southbound on Highway 99 near 16th Street in Merced at about 70 mph when he abruptly turned left and hit the guard rail. Lopez, who was not wearing a seat belt was ejected out the rear window of the vehicle. Lopez was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto and Cruz was arrested on felony DUI charges. www.nelsonrozier.com
