Motorcyclist Killed on Ben Maddox in Visalia

February 10, 2012- A man died Friday in a motorcycle crash, in Visalia. The accident happened at about 8:40 AM.

Michael Kinser was riding his 1998 Yamaha 600, south on Ben Maddox Way, just south of Noble Avenue. Kinser's motorcycle hit a curb and he lost control, and hit a tree.

Kinser suffered fatal injuries.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

Head-on Collision Injures Three People in Visalia

December 16, 2011- Three people were hurt Friday afternoon, in a crash in Visalia.

A silver Chevy Silverado with two occupants, was traveling south on Ben Maddox Way, when its driver ran through a red light as the Chevy was turning east onto Noble Avenue.

The Chevy collided head-on with a Ford Focus that was headed north on Ben Maddox.

The two people in the Silverado, and the driver of the Ford suffered neck and back injuries. They were taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment.

Visalia Motorcyclist Receives Major Injuries in Collision with Car

August 30, 2011- Motorcyclist, Anthony Galindo, of Visalia was traveling east on Caldwell Avenue, in Visalia, Tuesday night when he suffered major injuries from a collision with a car.

Galindo, was eastbound on Caldwell Ave., on a Suzuki motorcycle, just before 9 PM, when he tried to make a U-turn west of Ben Maddox Way, and crashed into a Ford Escort that was driven by Gloria Cabrera, of Farmersville.

Galindo suffered head trauma and leg injuries, and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center. He was transferred later to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

No word on whether there were any other injuries as a result of the accident.

April 20 Highway 198 accident in Visalia

 On April 20 there was a single-vehicle accident on Highway 198 near Ben Maddox in Visalia. Reportedly the vehicle overturned and traffic was backed up for several miles. Emergency crews were sent to the scene of the accident but no further details regarding the cause of the accident or possible injuries are available at this time.

March 2 bicycle accident in Visalia

On March 2 a 16-year-old suffered a broken leg after being hit by a car while riding her bike. Reportedly the victim was riding south on Ben Maddox Way near Douglas Avenue in Visalia. She was riding against the northbound traffic when she was hit by a northbound vehicle after crossing in front of the vehicle. She suffered a broken leg as a result of the accident.

Two Visalia women struck at bus stop

June 8, 2010--Two women waiting at a bus stop in Visalia yesterday afternoon were struck by a drunk driver.  The driver was as Jason Thomas Howard, age 24 who was driving  a 1986 Nissan.  He initially struck a trash can and then lost control and hit the women.  The victims were identified as Keri Sanders, age 40 and Demetria Davidson, age 32, who were both seriously injured.  The accident was on Walnut near Ben Maddox.

April 3 accident victim identified

The man who died in a wrongful death accident at Caldwell and Ben Maddox on April 3 has been identified as Derek Weiss. Reportedly the man was driving eastbound on Caldwell in his Acura when he veered off the road and hit a traffic signal pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. March 30 fire hydrant accident at Noble and Ben Maddox in Visalia

On March 30 a runaway Camaro hit a fire hydrant near the intersection of Ben Maddox and Noble in Visalia. The brakes and power steering on the Camaro, driven by Chris Fehlman, failed as Fehlman attempted to navigate a left turn. This sent the Camaro into a fire hydrant causing a geyser of water. Bicycle Accident on Mineral King

A legally blind UPS worker was struck by a motorist while riding his bicycle on Mineral King at the intersection of Ben Maddox in Visalia.  Thus far there have been 3 surgeries to his wrist and treatment continues.  Suit was filed by the law firm of Nelson & Rozier on April 16, 2009.  The opposing driver was on the job at the time of the accident.  This action will proceed in the Tulare County Superior Court.  Trial is set for April 10, 2010.
