Car Collision Involving Sheriff's Deputy on Avenue 200 in Porterville

Visalia Senior Citizen Abuse Attorney John L. Rozier has the following collision report; On Thursday, October 16, 2014 a car accident occurred in Porterville.  The vehicle collision involved a Tulare County Sheriff's deputy.

The officer was driving a 2001 Ford, on Avenue 200, when the front of the automobile was hit by Jose Frias, of Exeter.  Frias was driving a 1994 Honda, when at the intersection of Avenue 200, east of Road 188, he ran the stop sign.

The Honda struck the left, front corner of the deputy's Ford.

Frias suffered minor injuries and was taken to Sierra View Medical Center, in Porterville.  There is no report on whether the officer was hurt.

Deputy Hurt in a Crash near Porterville

February 22, 2012- A Tulare County Sheriff's Department deputy was injured in a crash east of Porterville. The accident happened on Tuesday, at about 3:00 PM.

The collision occurred on Road 284 and Worth Avenue, east of Porterville. The deputy, was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, in Visalia to be treated for non-lethal injuries.

His name is being withheld at this time.

Tulare County Deputy Flips Vehicle in Porterville Area

August 23, 2011- A crash involving a Tulare County Sheriff’s deputy from the Porterville substation happened on Tuesday. Deputy Oladapo Popoola, was returning from a call in the Porterville area when he crashed, and his 2004 Ford sheriff’s vehicle rolled onto its top.

The accident occurred at 10:30 AM, on Chimney Road, just south of Reservation Drive, before the Tule River Indian Reservation and east of McCarthy Ranch.

The CHP have reported that the deputy was driving west on Reservation Rd at 35-40 mph, when his vehicle drifted off the pavement onto the dirt shoulder. He over-corrected and struck a dirt embankment, and the car flipped over.

Popoola was taken to Sierra View District Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Police have reported that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
