December 15, 2011- A man was killed in a crash, Thursday night in Winton, northwest of Fresno, at approximately 10:30 PM.
Jose Nieto-Ramirez, of Winton, was driving a grey 1998 Hyundai Accent on Cypress Avenue, near Fairlane Avenue.
The driver of a 2004 Infinity G35, Javier Lara Jr, of Atwater, was driving down Fairlane and failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection. The Infinity slammed into the driver's side of the Hyundai.
Nieto-Ramirez died at the scene of the accident.
Lara suffered minor injuries.
Both cars received extensive damage.

Tragic Accident Kills Teen in Winton
October 17, 2011- A teenage girl was hit and killed by a car in Winton, north of Fresno, on Monday. The accident occurred at about 7:30 PM.
Monica Cazares, 13, was running northeast along Winton Way, south of Bridget Court, when she ran out into the road and was struck by a 2009 Nissan Altima, driven by Samantha Miller.
Miller tried to avoid hitting Cazares, by slamming on her brakes and turning her car to the right. But the right front of the car hit the girl. She was thrown northeast and landed along the curb, north of Bridget Court.
Cazares died at the scene of the crash. Miller and her 7 year-old passenger were not injured in the collision.
CHP reported that alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

May 23 Winton Accident
On May 23 Donna Marie Walls- Randall was killed in a wrongful death accident at Walnut Avenue and Cypress Avenue in Winton. Walls-Randall was turning left onto Cypress Road when Jose Luis Dominguez attempted to pass another vehicle in the opposite lane and hit her vehicle. Dominguez is being charged with felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. Walls-Randall’s husband, Allen Randall, was taken to Mercy Medical Center with a broken back, broken clavicle, and seven broken ribs. May 19 fatal canal accident on Shaffer Road near Winton
On May 19 a man was killed in an accident on Shaffer Road near Winton. Reportedly he was traveling northbound on Shaffer near Palm Avenue when he attempted to pass a flat-bed trailer driven by Francisco Ochoa. He crossed into the southbound lane to attempt to pass the truck when other vehicles in the southbound lane were approaching him. He then went back into the northbound lane and one of the rear tires of his vehicle hit one of the front tires of the truck. This caused his vehicle to spin, hit a concrete wall, and land in the canal. the vehicle was completely submerged in the canal. People passing the accident stopped and pulled the man from the vehicle. He had suffered major injuries. He was air lifted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto where he was pronounced dead. www.nelsonrozier.com
