Three Vehicle Collision on Bethel Avenue near Selma

March 28, 2014- A collision, involving three vehicles, leaves one in serious condition, in Fresno County, Friday afternoon.  The accident occurred near Selma, California, at the intersection of Bethel and Dinuba avenues.

A driver of a flatbed truck was headed east on Dinuba Avenue, as he approached the intersection at Bethel Avenue, he made a left turn, as a blue Honda Pilot was headed west on Bethel.  A driver of a pickup truck ran through a stop sign and hit the Honda, which then smashed into the flatbed truck.

Emergency personnel had to cut the driver of the Honda out of the SUV using the jaws-of-life, and he was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center to be treated for major injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the flatbed refused medical treatment.

Tulare County Accident on Highway 99 near Avenue 152

March 27, 2014- A man sustained serious injuries in a car accident, that happened in Tulare County, on Highway 99 north.  The collision happened on Thursday, near Avenue 152, in Tipton, California.

The driver of a Jeep Wrangler, Daniel Rodriguez, 22 years old from Whittier, was northbound on Highway 99, nearing Avenue 152.  Rodriguez approached a curve in the roadway and lost control.  He swerved onto the center divide, then skidded to the right.  The Jeep then overturned many times, and the driver was ejected from the vehicle.

Daniel Rodriguez suffered major injuries, and was medi-flighted to Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

The CHP reported that Rodriguez was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving a Police Car in Sanger

March 28, 2014- A car accident on Friday, in Fresno County leaves a police officer hurt.  The collision took place in Sanger, at about 8:45 PM.

The crash happened in the area of Bethel and Jensen avenues, when the officer was called to help other officials pull over a vehicle that was considered high risk.

Three cars, including the patrol car, were involved the accident.  The officer's vehicle and one car sustained moderate damage, while the third vehicle received minor damage.

The Sanger Police officer and the driver of one of the other vehicles suffered minor injuries.

The California Highway Patrol are investigating the incident.

DUI Truck Accident in Bakersfield on Planz & Akers

March 28, 2014- A Bakersfield man was arrested, after a car collision, for driving under the influence.  The accident happened early Friday morning, at 3:18 AM, in Kern County.

The driver, Jesse Aguirre, sped through a red light on Akers Road, and Planz Road.  He smashed into a silver pickup truck, driven by Gerald Perkins.

Perkins suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Aguirre was charged with DUI.
