September 26 Highway 99 fatal accident in Tulare County
On September 26 Visalia resident Bella Mendoza was killed in a rollover accident on Highway 99 in Tulare County near Earlimart. According to reports Mendoza was a passenger in a vehicle headed north on Highway 99 near Earlimart when the driver, Matthew Elizondo, lost control of the SUV and overturned into a pistachio orchard. Reports stated that a tanker had drifted into Elizondo's lane forcing him to turn onto the median. He then lost control of the vehicle and crossed back over the northbound lanes. His vehicle then overturned in the orchard. There were a total of seven people in the vehicle. The driver and two others were treated at the scene of the accident. Three passengers were hospitalized.
