A 21 year old man or woman (conflicting reports on the gender of the driver), from Lost Hills, was driving a black Nissan Sentra vehicle north on Highway 33, just south of Arnold Avenue. The driver was travelling at an unknown rate of speed, when the car drifted onto the dirt shoulder to the east of the highway.
The driver over-corrected as the vehicle reentered the northbound roadway, and turned the Nissan sharply right, causing it to slide directly into southbound traffic. The Sentra ended up directly in the path of a Peterbilt Crane truck that was headed south.
The big rig, driven by Thomas Davis, was not able to hit his brakes before colliding with the driver's side of the Nissan. The impact from the collision killed the driver of the car. Thomas Davis is reported to be uninjured.
