A 27 year old man from Merced, was driving southbound on Highway 65, near Avenue 184, when his 2004 Chevy vehicle drifted into the other lane and onto the east shoulder. The driver over-corrected, and drove back into the other lanes, off the road, and down into an embankment on the west side of the highway.
The car struck a concrete pipe and a few orchard trees before flipping over.
The California Highway Patrol report that the man was not wearing a seat belt, and he was thrown from his overturned Chevy, and was killed in the collision, from his injuries.
