A 43 year old man, from Lancaster, was driving a blue 2012 Ford Mustang, east on Highway 178/Inyokern Road. As the Mustang was headed down the street, it encountered a 2001 Ford F350 pickup truck, that had just turned onto the highway from Brady Street.
The Ford Mustang clipped the truck, and the car overturned several times, before it came to rest on its roof. While the F-350 truck veered to the shoulder of the roadway upon impact with the other vehicle.
The driver of the Mustang died at the scene of the crash. And the passenger in the vehicle, Gilesteban Fuentes, 52 years old, suffered serious injuries. He was airlifted to Kern Medical Center, in Bakersfield.
