The California Highway Patrol reported that one of the tractor-trailers was driving a little too fast on northbound Highway 99. It crashed into the back of the other semi on the freeway, near Lerdo Highway.
The impact of the collision caused the load of one of the rigs to spill all over the roadway. The material the vehicle carried was corrosive. Hazmat crews were at the scene to clean up the chemicals.
No reports of any injuries at this time.
Issues
still remaining to be investigated; determining whether road conditions may
have contributed to this accident, and any malfunctions of the vehicle.
