Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Sunday, December 28, 2014, a head-on collision ended in fatality. The DUI car accident took place northwest of Delano, on Highway 43, at about 2:25 AM.
A 2003 GMC pickup truck, driven by Otilia Pineda, of Allensworth, was northbound on Highway 43. Just south of Avenue 16, the pickup drifted into the opposite lane of traffic.
A 1995 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Royale, was traveling south on the highway when the GMC veered into the lane. The male driver, in his 50's, attempted to avoid the collision, by swerving onto the right shoulder of the road. But the vehicles crashed head-on.
Pineda was reported to have fled the scene of the wreck. Officers found her at her home, and arrested her for driving under the influence and other crimes. She was on probation for one prior DUI at the time of the accident.
The driver of the Oldsmobile died at the scene.
