March 30 pedestrian accident in Visalia on Highway 63

On March 30 Rafael Rivera was critically injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 6 in Visalia. Reportedly Rivera, a transient, was hit by a Suburban while he was crossing Highway 63 between Sweet and Prospect Streets with his shopping cart.  Palemon Viera was the driver of the Suburban abd is being charged with felony hit and run charges after fleeing the scene of the accident. Rivera was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for treatment and then to Community Regional Medical Center. His injuries are described as life-threatening. http://www.nelsonrozier.com/
