Cara Duke was driving a 2012 Mazda southbound on Road 274 north of Putney Place, when she lost control of the vehicle, steering it off the east side of the roadway.
The vehicle drove over a curb and off the roadway, then down a dirt embankment. The Mazda then hit some large oak trees, head-on.
Duke suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, in Fresno.
