A Kenworth tractor-trailer, driven by Navor Hernandez, of Bakersfield, was traveling southbound on Road 80, at about 55 miles per hour. He failed to stop at a red light, at the intersection of Road 80 and Avenue 368. The big rig ran into a 2003 Toyota 4Runner, that was driven by Olivia Thomason or Thompson.
Thomason had been eastbound on Avenue 368, when the semi truck collided with her SUV. The impact pushed the Toyota across the roadway and it collided with a Chevrolet Blazer, that was driven by William Celaya, of Dinuba.
Thomason suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Hernandez received moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. It is reported that Celaya was not injured.
