Visalia Police Officer Involved in Auto Collision With Pedestrian

Tulare County Personal Injury Lawyer John Rozier has the following accident update; On Saturday, November 1, 2014, a pedestrian collision involving a police officer, ends in fatality.  The patrol car accident took place in Visalia, at approximately 1:30 AM.

Visalia Police Officer Max Navo was traveling on Santa Fe Street, driving to the scene of a disturbance that was called in, at 30 mph.  As the patrol vehicle was headed down the roadway, Rodrigo Cabral, of Avenal walked into the street.  Some witnesses said he was trying to flag down the officer.

The pedestrian had been in an altercation with two other men, just seconds before walking into the road.  Navo saw the man at the last minute and tried to swerve and brake to avoid hitting him.  It did not happen in time and the car struck Cabral.

Cabral suffered serious injuries and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he later died from his wounds.

Those familiar with that area of Santa Fe Street have reported that there is not much light on the road.  It is very difficult to see anyone that could be walking or biking, after it gets dark.

The police report may take several weeks to prepare—in the meantime we can probably obtain a cover sheet of the accident report for the family of the deceased.  Please let us help you during this trying time.  Mr. Rozier is located in Visalia, on Caldwell Avenue.  Get in touch with him at 559-713-0159,  www.nelsonrozier.com
