An 80 year old Avenal woman, was driving south on Highway 41, north of York Avenue. Another vehicle driven by a 58 year old Clovis man was traveling north on the highway, when he drifted into the southbound lane. The two vehicles hit head-on.
The Avenal woman suffered major injuries. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, where she died. The passenger in that vehicle, a 60 year old woman, sustained minor injuries.
The Clovis driver had minor injuries, and a passenger in his vehicle had moderate injuries.
